Aaron Brown “ Buddy” Morris, III a native of Magnolia, MS and a resident of Fluker, LA passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021 at the age of 79. He bravely fought a 3 year battle with cancer and beat many odds against this disease. He was a pharmacist and successful businessman in the Kentwood community. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eleanor Holden Morris; his daughter Ellen Morris VandeVuss and husband Jason; 4 grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Adeline and Ainsley Grace VandeVuss; two sisters, Elizabeth Morris Matteson and Mary Morris Porter; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Brown “AB” and Elizabeth McGlohn “Bess” Morris. Ralph Lane Wilson
March 05, 1943 – June 14, 2021
Ralph Lane Wilson, a faithful husband loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born March 5, 1943 and was 78 years of age. He was a native of Kentwood, LA.
Ralph was a dairy farmer for 60+ years, 40 years of that he had his son Randy by his side. He loved his cows and barn cats. His favorite pastimes included coon hunting with Mr. Frank Erwin Sr. in his early years, gardening, and his afternoon visits with his close friend Dennis Miller before milking.
He was a member of Greenlaw Baptist Church for 55 years where he was ordained as a deacon in July 1973. He was a faithful church member; choir member and he taught the Men’s Sunday School class for 30 years.
Visitation will be held at Greenlaw Baptist Church, Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5-8 PM and on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 8-11AM with services at 11AM with Rev. Harold Thornton and Rev. Mike Stafford officiating. Burial followed in the Bolivar Cemetery, Bolivar, LA.
Ralph is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Patricia Lane Wilson, a son Randy Glenn Wilson (Loretta) of Kentwood and a daughter Debbie Wilson Simmons (Scot) of Kentwood. Paw-Paw will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren and spouses; Christie Simmons Taylor (David) of Spanish Fort, AL, Crystal Simmons Morgan (Heath) of Independence, LA, Renee Simmons Travis (Wesley) of Livingston, LA, Delane Wilson of Kentwood, LA and Koley Simmons of Ponchatoula LA ; 5 great-grandchildren Emilee Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Taylor Morgan who shared a birthday with her great Paw-Paw, Addison Taylor and Charli Kate Travis; a brother-in-law Mo Jasim, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie F. and Lettie Crawford Wilson and 5 brothers, James Wilson, Bill Wilson, Karl Wilson, Horace (Bud) Wilson, and Little Johnny Wilson; 1 sister Iva Jewel Wilson Jasim, and 2 sisters in law, Pat Wilson and Dale Wilson.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Heath Morgan, Wesley Travis, Koley Simmons, Dennis Miller and David Brabham.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Erwin Sr. and the Men’s Sunday School Class of Greenlaw Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Modern Home Health and Hospice; Karol McKean, Lisa King, Kristen Hartmann and Vanessa Creel for their kind and compassionate care.
Buddy Morris has been moved to St. Joseph’s Carpenter Hospice in Baton Rouge, but will be moving to the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond tomorrow. Please be in prayer for Buddy, Eleanor, Ellen, and the staff of caregivers working with him.
Yesterday, was another first for us. David and I attended Sunday School for the first time in a long time. We’ve been waiting for fully effective vaccinations. It felt like being home again.
Roger Dale Sanders, a resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was born June 6, 1944 in Kentwood, LA and was 77 years of age. He dedicated his life to serving his community with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department. He is survived by his 3 sons, Shannon Sanders and wife Lynette, Ricky Dale Sanders and Blane Sanders and wife Amy; grandchildren, Dale Sanders and Crystal Ford, Danny Sanders and wife Sara, Seth Sanders and Ishalyn Ballard, Kristopher Sanders and wife Ashley, Danielle Sanders, Cole Sanders, Breann Sanders, Brayden Sanders, Jesse Sanders and wife Taylor, Garrett Sanders and Lanea Wall; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Paul Sanders and wife Ann.
