JoinYvonne Birchin thanking God today. She has a problem with recurring blockages, but learned they can be treated with medication, not surgery. She is so thankful.
Today is the day Mrs. Kitty Bryan will be laid to rest. Please be in prayer for her three sons and their families. UPDATE – The service is tomorrow. I knew that! Thanks, Billy Carl, for helping me out.
Please continue to pray for the people of Ukraine and all those fighting there. Let’s pray for a good end to this conflict.
Our OCC workday is only one day away. I’m looking forward to spending the morning with some wonderful people and getting some items ready, or closer to ready, for the “shoeboxes”.
I have some shopping to do for one Sunday School class and for one of our oldest church ladies. Thank-you ladies. I’ll soon be showing you what you are “buying” for the shoeboxes. Thank-you to all who have have provided clothing this month. It will be a blessing to the children to receive the clothing you purchased. When many shoeboxes are packed, much is needed to properly fill them!
Sunday, we will begin our focus on the Annie Armstrong Offering for North America. Please begin to pray for this worthy effort.
And he shall drive out the enemy from before thee,
And shall say, Destroy them!

Some packed “Shoeboxes” made it into a bomb shelter in the Ukraine. Thank you, God! (Pictures available on my FB page – I don’t know where the boxes were packed, but I am so thankful they were packed and shipped. That $9.00 shipping fee seems very small when you think of where there shoeboxes traveled!)

Prayers
Praying today is important. Don’t let other things keep you for praying.
SAMARITAN’S PURSE DOES THE “SHOEBOX” MINISTRY, BUT IT ALSO DOES COMPASSION MINISTRIES WORLDWIDE.
Compassion ministries is needed in many areas. It is my prayer we will grow a spirit of compassion to minister to the many needs of people. I believe we serve Him as we serve others.
Today, I am thankful I have access to prayer. I could pray more, as is true of most people, but God does not limit the time we spend in prayer. We do! The opportunity is there for all of us.
Operation Christmas Child
Today, I want to thank Mrs. Lauree Miller and her class of young children for providing seventy (70) pair of quality underwear for boys of all ages for our shoeboxes. The boys will be so excited to find these in their shoeboxes.
What are your prayer requests today? The plan is for you to take them directly to God. Spend some time today on praying for the world, our country, our churches, people who have spiritual, physical, or other needs, needs in families, etc.
I also want to thank Beth G. Lee for helping me yesterday morning as I prepare for Saturday’s workday. She left yesterday with plans to make blankets for the dolls we are sending. How precious it would be to see little girls tenderly caring for their dolls as the copy what they have seen while watching their mothers and other mothers. You can begin to pray for the girls who will receive a little doll AND a blanket in their box of “blessings and love”.
This is a wonderful day to talk with God and thank Him for all He has provided and done for us. He is always listening for us!
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

PLEASE BE IN PRAYER FOR ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE UKRAINE.
Pray for those fighting, traveling out of the country, caring for those behind, sharing the Word, caring for the injured, hiding in a “bomb shelter”, caring for children, receiving people in neighboring countries, preparing food to share, trying to get groceries into the country, and the list goes on and on. PRAY!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD WORKSHOP
We will be working Saturday morning to pack pencil bags and to prepare items for placement in “Shoeboxes”. Believe me, there is a job for everyone! We need those who can count items, cut tags, take items out of packaging, sharpen pencils, repackage items, sort items by age groups/sizes, cut paper dolls, stuff toys, bag marbles, etc. Come. We’ll find a job for you.
We will meet at 9:00 Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at FBC, Kentwood. One of the best rewards will be getting to know people you don’t know. Come be a part of something that reaches out to children around the world.

‘Miracle from God’ needed, Ukrainian Baptist leader, Southwestern alum, says
Annie Armstrong Week of Prayer for North American Missions
The Week of Prayer for North American missions is annually observed by SBC churches to pray for missionaries, their ministries and their families. Prayer is the fuel for spiritually sustaining missionaries in places where the gospel is greatly needed, but often opposed.
The official date is the first Sunday in March through the second Sunday. This year it is March 6-13, 2022. Your church can choose this date or another time during the Easter season to participate. The offering goal for this year is $70 million.
Don’t forget to share an invitation for the Annie Armstrong Tea at FBC, Greensburg Saturday at 10 A.M. and the OCC, “Shoebox” workshop at FBC, Kentwood at 9 A.M Saturday. Sometimes, there are hard choices to make. David and I will be at the OCC workshop.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Please add Darrell’s friend and former pastor, Dr. Michael Hawley, retired pastor from Ponchatoula, to the prayer link. He has a large growth on the artery from the kidney to the heart. He is seeing a surgeon today (Friday). Thanks.
Please pray for all the people with colds due to the changing weather conditions. Colds can make people miserable and return again and again.

You’ll find current articles about the church in Ukraine in these publications.
I read some comments from OCC shoebox packers that said they had received thank-you notes from children in the Ukraine who have already received shoeboxes. It is comforting to know the shoeboxes have already impacted lives of children and families there. Many of the Ukraine have strong religious beliefs. Let’s pray that faith helps the people through these difficult days.
Prayers and actions impact lives. Remember this quote – “Put feet to your prayers.” Do that today!
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,
but Christ lives in me.
Thelife I now live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.

Donna Bennett did not get good reports on yesterday’s colonoscopy. She has cancer and plans are being made for treatment. The good report from yesterday is that her food tube was removed. Please pray for Donna and Robert.
Anderson Leto is better and is now back at home. Thank-you for praying for this newborn. Please pray for this young family. Three babies is surely a challenge!
The obituary for “Miss” Kitty is not available at this time, but I will post it when it becomes available.

Thanks for the boys’ underwear purchased by one class. More is still needed, but I learned of more that will be purchased by another class. I was given money to buy clothing for the girls while a class member will purchase for the boys. I hope to be able to show them my purchases and receipts Sunday. Thanks to these classes, and others, for helping with purchases of clothing this month. It’s not too late to help, even if you have not started yet.
I’m so thankful for all the readers and prayer partners.
