FALL FOOD ROUNDUP FOR THE LOUISIANA BAPTIST CHILDREN’S HOME

Lot of food has been turned in at the church for the children’s home. Today is the last day to turn food in because the truck will be here early in the morning. This is our only chance all year to help supply their pantry.

FBC, KENTWOOD IS GENEROUS WITH MISSION CAUSES.

I’m so thankful to be involved in a giving church. You are all appreciated so much.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD at FBC IS WORKING HARD TO FILL THE LAST GROUPS OF BOXES, OLDER BOYS AND GIRLS. What a blessing it is to now find in stores the items we were lacking.

TODAY IS THE LORD’S DAY. If you are not able to attend church in person, I recommend watching the services of FBC, Kentwood online with me. I would certainly rather be at church in person, but online services are better than missing out.

The Fall Food Round-Up for the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home truck will come to Kentwood Monday morning. If you plan to contribute food, but haven’t done so, time is running out. Get your contributions to the church tomorrow so they can be included this year. Ten of the items they need the most are:

An unnamed person had surgery this week. After one night in the hospital, she is now home. Pray all goes well for her in the coming days.

A resident of Garland, TX, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center-Lake Pointe in Rowlett, TX. He was born December 14, 1946 in McComb, MS and was 75 years of age. He is survived by wife, Pam B. Christmas; daughter, Kim Christmas Moore; son-in-law, Mike Moore; son, Michael Christmas; daughter-in-law, Tamie Hughes Christmas; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Herrington (Garrett), Caitlyn Golmon (Michael), Cassidy Golmon, Craig Golmon (Miah), Michael Christmas, II and Reese Ann Christmas; 6 great-grandchildren, Alayna Golmon, Olivia McGovern, Beckham McGovern, Lyla Golmon, Boden Bernhart, and one on the way, Lucas James Golmon; sister, Merrie Christmas Bennett (Henry); brother, Charles D. “Boo” Christmas (Kay). Preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Christmas and Hilda Lenoir Christmas. A resident of Osyka, MS, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. She was born June 27, 1952 in Magnolia, MS and was 70 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Parfait and husband, Edward Parfait, Jr.; 2 sons, Gabriel Gonzalez and wife, Heather Gonzalez and Jonathan Gonzalez, Sr. and wife Brandi Gonzalez; 2 brothers, William Roberts, Jr. and Richie Roberts; grandchildren, Jordan Parfait, Cooper Parfait, Jaxon Parfait, Madeline Gonzalez, Mena Gonzalez, Mollie Gonzalez, Jonathan Gonzalez, Jr., Natalie Gonzalez, Naiyah Gonzalez, Noelya Gonzalez, Kore Gonzalez and Kai Gonzalez. FALL FOOD ROUND-UP

It’s getting close to the time when the truck will be in Kentwood to pick-up the food we are donating to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. This is our only opportunity to donate food this year.

You can check the church bulletin or call the church office to get a list of ten of the most needed items. The items you purchase can be left in the church office until pick-up. You need to have your purchases ready for pick-up on the 18th so they can be picked up early on the 19th.

Judy Lynn Sanders

March 19, 1950 – September 10, 2022


Judy was born March 19, 1950 in McComb, MS and passed away September 10, 2022 at her home in Kentwood. Judy was a lifelong member of East Fork Baptist Church. She lived her whole life in Kentwood and although she never had any children of her own, she helped raise and was “JuJu” to many. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Posey and husband, Gary Talton; nieces, Michelle Bridges and husband, Paul, Marcie Grice and husband, James and Kim Sulzby and husband, Jay; nephews, Justin Hendry and wife, Dana, Scott Posey and wife, Karen and Denver Posey and wife, Victoria; special brother-in-law, Larry Hendry and wife, Rhonda; 13 great-nephews; 9 great-nieces; 5 great-great nephews; and 3great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Geraldean Sanders; brother, Aubrey Ray Sanders; sister, Marie Hendry and special brother-in-law, Raymond Posey. That’s not a lot to write in one day. If you haven’t joined in with writing Scripture, today is a good day to start. This is certainly a great Scripture to begin with.

Today is Saturday. When I was a child, on Saturday’s our Sunday clothes were laid out, our shoes polished, and our lessons studied. As I got older, I realized Momma was checking off the preparations for our Sunday lunch. Did you have any routine that you followed? Do you have a routine now? Do you need a routine now to make Sunday morning run smoothly?
