“They continued steadfastly

in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship,

in the breaking of bread,

and in prayers.

And the Lord added to the church daily

those who were being saved.”

~Acts 2:42, 47b, NKJV~

Melissa Johnson needs our prayers to deal with a continuing problem with one arm.  You may remember she fell and broke both arms.

Did not get the news I wanted this morning at the doctors office. The doctors wants to take the hardware out of the left arm . The right arms hardware is great. Being the smooth talker I am I got him to agree to let me have two more injections so that will buy me almost a year to get better!!! Not ready to give up and that gives me more time to pray and get better! I still believe I can beat this!

Mrs. Annie Bell Harrell is doing better and looking forward to the team from church that will take the Lord’s Supper to Mr. Phillip and her tonight.

The Frozen Food for Families was a big hit again this month.  We added a new recipient this month.  He was very appreciative.

Friday Morning Bible Study will meet at the cabin this week.  After our study, Women of the Bible: The Woman at the Well, we will have a salad and dessert lunch in the cabin.  All ladies are invited to come join us.  If possible the Bible study will be outside in the shade, so wear your tennis shoes and dress comfortable.  Bring a friend when you come at 10:00. Please call if you need more information.

The end of another school year is fast approaching (another year of retirement for me)!  Pray for a good/safe summer for the students, teachers, and staff of each school.  Pray for graduates, at various levels, as they move on to the next step, whatever that may be.  Pray for thoughtful, wise choices in the decision-making process.

Let’s pray for summer activities, especially Vacation Bible Schools in all the churches.  Pray for those who will work in each one of them to be well-prepared so they can share their love for Jesus and His love for each of us with the children.

Thanks for reading and praying today.  Let’s each make today special for someone today. Together, we can touch many lives today.

Mr. James W. Frazier did not get to come home yet, but, hopefully, will make it today. There was an issue with the transfer process.

Pray for Melissa Johnson.  She’s having pain in one of her arms.  You may remember she fell last year and needed surgery on both arms.  She will be so appreciative of your prayers.

Today has been a good day. The doctor removed the vent from Doug! He has spoken a bit. We are blessed.

Sunday

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,

the God we serve is able to save us from it,

and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.

But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king,

that we will not serve your gods

or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Doug Toney – Please keep praying for Doug and Sandy.

Well friends, the day has been a bit better. The doctor turned the vent so it works more like a c-pap machine. Took away all sedation. This was at 9:30 and was to be for an hour. About 4:30 he came back, turned machine so Doug was doing more work and left it. He left orders to turn it back if he has trouble. He is not awake much yet, but he has been sedated since late the 23rd. His bicarbonate was up-good sodium-up(bad). Lots of other issues. Vitals are good. He has a long way to go to get well, so please continue to pray. Thank you.

He will also continue on with oral chemotherapy daily while receiving radiation and his neuro oncologist will also be keeping the IV chemotherapy in his treatment plan. Surgery could still be an option after radiation therapy depending on his response to the treatment. Thank you for all of your support and prayers during this time.  David also said to Solomon his son,

“Be strong and courageous, and do the work.

Do not be afraid or discouraged,

for the LORD God, my God, is with you.

He will not fail you or forsake you

until all the work

for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

~1 Chronicles 28:20~

Please pray for my friend, Sandy W. Toney.  Her husband, Doug, is in ICU.  Sometimes, things do not work out as easily as hoped for in the medical world.  This has been the case for them.

Jadon’s Journey

Two and half hours later we still don’t have any answers. We ruled out infection, fractures, or breaks. She thinks he could be overpowering his brace and bruising his shin bone. We are going to take his brace off and see if he gets better over the weeekend. If not he will have to have an MRI next week. We are also going to try a different kind of brace but of course that will take several weeks to come in. She said Jadon’s case is a difficult one and she will probably think about him all week. Please continue to pray for him. I hate seeing him in pain.
