Tuesday

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror;

then we shall see face to face.

Now I know in part;

then I shall know fully,

even as I am fully known.

Alice Faye Lee’s doctors decided to keep her one more day.  She’s coming home today.

  • Let each of you look out not only for his own interests,                                                               but also for the interests of others.                                                                                                                                                                                    ~Philippians 2:4~
  • “Others”

I think I may have first grown to love this hymn by seeing/hearing Tennessee                               Ernie Ford on television.

I think missionaries, including Kyra Karr, live their lives thinking of others.

Monday

Consider it pure joy, my brothers,

whenever you face trials of many kinds,

because you know that the testing of your faith

develops perseverance.

Perseverance must finish its work

so that you may be mature and complete,

not lacking anything.

~James 1:2-4~

A quote I heard at church last night:

“Christians need the patience of a farmer

and the perseverance of an athlete.”

                                                ~Caleb Smith~

I love to have Scripture show up in timely ways.

Who would have thought this verse would come to my computer

shortly after the quote I heard?

God has a way of making his points clear to us!

May we all be more like farmers and athletes!

I talked with Wendy L. Alford at church last night.  She said her dad, Mike Lambert, is now in rehab and improving some.  Please continue to pray for Mike and his family.

Last night, Lisa Piner, said her mother, Alice Faye Lee, did not need a stent or a by-pass. She will be treated with medication and will possibly be coming home Monday.  Please continue to pray for this family.

New Zion Baptist Church would love to have you attend their monthly senior adult gathering, “Young at Heart”.  They meet on the third Tuesday each month at 10:30.

Thursday at 6:30, David and I will host the Third Thursday Gathering at the Cabin.

Pine Ridge United Methodist Church would love for you to attend their breakfast at 8 A.M. the fourth Sunday of each month.  Donations are used to support needs of individuals.

Friday, all ladies are invited to attend Bible study in the church fellowship hall at 10 A..M. We are studying Women of the Bible: The Wise Woman of Abel  – 2 Samuel 20:14-22.  Our group is growing!  We are learning great lessons of life.  Contact me for more information.

Tuesday of next week will be the “Young” Ladies Birthday Party at The Cafe at 11 A.M.  Come help us honor ladies who have August birthdays.

Thursday of next week, the ladies will host “Ladies Night: Follow the Ants to the Picnic”.  All ladies from 3-103 are invited to come picnic with us at the FBC fellowship hall of FBC.  You do not need to attend church at Kentwood to come.  All ladies are invited. Don’t miss out!

One of our on-going projects of Women’s ministry is Operation Christmas Child.  It is exciting to watch as our gifts are accumulating waiting for our packing party.  The party will only be a success if we purchase and donate items for the children’s shoe boxes. Check the area in the hallway of the fellowship hall closest to the coffee pot to get ideas for your purchases.

I need to borrow three or four  Scrabble games for a missions lesson.  If you have one I can use, please let me know.  You can bring it to me at church Sunday or Wednesday.  Please put your name on a sheet of paper inside the box.  Thanks!

Make this a week where you work for things that can have eternal value/meaning to others.

  2. Purchase the item listed on the bag in the quantity suggested.
  3. Return the bag and your purchases to the same area.

Some of you have been very faithful to help with this big project that will touch so many lives.  Today, I want to point out the Faithful Class.  This group of ladies has made purchases each month.  I thank them, but God will bless them for their efforts.  They are leading out by example!
