…. who wants all people to be saved

and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

~I Timothy 2:4~

Patsy, sister of Theople Hurst and Bobbie Magee, will have a lung procedure today.  Pray they can get some helpful information.

Last night, David and I were blessed to join many of our neighbors as they honored Bro. Kevin and Jana Smith who have served eight years at Pine Ridge and Tangipahoa.  It was wonderful to hear of all the memories and testimonies.  Toni Travis Black, vocalists, and musicians at Galilee Baptist Church did an awesome job of leading the service.  There was plenty of foot-stomping, clapping, and singing! We were very blessed to have been a part of that special service.  God bless Bro. Kevin and Jana in their future church opportunities.

Many local Vacation Bible Schools begin today.  I hope you have volunteered your time.  If not, it is not too late.  Also, make sure your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and neighbors are in attendance this week.  May young lives be eternally this week.

Devotional, Scripture, and a Song

  • “Broken to be Made New” – http://odb.org/2016/06/06/broken-to-be-made-new/
  • I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.                                                                                                    ~Psalm 119:75~
  • “Because He Lives” was the hymn I selected yesterday.  This morning, I must use that hymn again.  Yesterday, at Pine Ridge, we were blessed to hear the son of Dwayne and Toni Black and grandson of Tommy and Ginger Travis, sing his heart out.  He just completed the third grade. May God continue to use this young man for His service.

Happy Monday!  Make this day meaningful in His service!

Pray for fifteen (15) volunteer missionaries from Montpelier Baptist Church who have now arrived in Nicaragua.  They have made a collected items since their last trip and involved their entire church in the project.  They go once or twice each year.  Great work is done while they are there.

Some members of FBC, Greensburg will soon be going to Haiti next month. This is a also a repeat for some of their members.  I think I heard the number seven (7), but am sure someone will help me with a correction if that is not accurate. Pray for them as they continue to collect and pact items to give to the people there.

David Bryant has been transferred to Ochsner with surgery possibly on Tuesday.  Please pray for David and his family.

Scripture WritingIsaiah 40: 18-21

Monday is memorial day.  Remember all the families of military personnel who did not safely return from their service to our country, but who gave their lives for a country they considered great and worthy of a possible sacrifice.  I do not know of anyone in my family, but David had an uncle who gave his life in France in WWII.  Pray for all families who have lost military personnel during their service.  Pray our country will remain strong and worthy of all the sacrifices of these people.

Two sweet ladies from Amite (Written by their sister, Virgie Vining Morgan)
Dear friends and family, I really need your prayers this week. My 2 remaining sisters will be going through some surgical procedures in the next few days. Gloria will be having her carotid arteries cleaned tomorrow. The Dr. told her this would be very serious surgery for someone her age (85). Edwina will be having heart cath and endoscope on Wed. She is 81. Both will be under anesthesia which is risky to some extent. Prayers are really appreciated at this time.

Yesterday’s special service at FBC certainly honored first responders and God in all that was said and done.

Mrs. Barbara Hutchinson called last night.  She said she was sick and hospitalized while on her big trip to Colorado.  She had acute mountain sickness, caused by the altitude change and dehydration.  She’s home now and still recovering.  Pray that a couple days of rest and nourishment, along with the medication, will have her feeling much better.  Pray for her as she sees a specialist tomorrow about her hip problem.  I’m also thanking God she had the opportunity to go to Colorado and enjoy some of her stay there and for those who took such good care of her on the bad days.

Third Thursday

  • Meet at our cabin at 6:30 this Thursday.
  • Enjoy the fellowship, food, and sharing.

Macy Gueldner, Mary Catherine Gueldner. & Martha P. Drago

Macy’s counts are very low, during a week where they should’ve doubled. I guess the increase in chemo finally caught up to her. So, her chemo this week is on hold. They’ll check again next week, and hopefully she can get back on track. She’s in good spirits; she just doesn’t have much immunity. So we’re hoping to stay germ free.As for me (Mary Catherine, Macy’s mom), my doctor ordered an MRI of my entire spine. He’s afraid I have ruptured a disc underneath my fusion. He said, “You are a tiny person, and Macy is not so tiny.” We’re both hoping that my lower back problem is just temporary. We’ll see…I have some good news: my mother in law (Martha) has only 4 radiation treatments before the end of her cancer journey 🙂
