Friday – Snow Day!

I’ve been trying to write this since 11:30 last night, but the weather didn’t cooperate.

I think this is a good verse to practice more and more each year:

“The King will reply,

‘Truly I tell you,

whatever you did for one of the least

of these brothers and sisters of mine,

you did for me.’

~Matthew 25:40~

Last night, I was going to tell you we were not going to have Bible study this morning.  I think when you took one look of the white environment we all live in today, you were able to make that decision for yourself.

Thursday Second Addition

Bettye Fussell

I also learned that Mrs. Evelyn Bridges passed away this morning.  She has been at the Greensburg Nursing Home for a few months.

Two deaths in one church family in one morning.  Two more sweet Kentwood ladies now in heaven and healed of their health issues.  What a sweet thought!

Ora Lee Wilson will be in charge of food for the services for both families.  Please call her and volunteer to prepare something for each family.

Thursday Addition

As hard as it is to post this, I can rejoice knowing Bettye is healed in heaven where there is no sickness or death.  Her friends and family can see her again one day if they choose to follow her to heaven.

Monday

Let us acknowledge the LORD;

let us press on to acknowledge him.

As surely as the sun rises, he will appear;

he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

~Hosea 6:3~

Thank you, Lord, for giving us a great opportunity yesterday to share our love for You, missions, and each other!  May seeds have been planted in hearts that will impact the world for Jesus!

  • There’s excitement in the air.  The Lottie Moon Christmas Tea is only a few days away.  I hope to see many of you Sunday afternoon at 2 P.M.  We’ll have Lottie Moon Tea Cakes, finger foods, various teas, a missionary speaker, local children singing, etc.  All this while sitting at a beautifully decorated table!  Come join us as we pray for international missionaries and for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering which will be collected in our churches beginning next Sunday.
  • Next week, the children studying missions will set up a nativity scene at the church.  Be sure your children and grandchildren are there to participate as they learn about the reason we celebrate the Christmas season.
  • Read the Bible – Hebrews 1-2, Psalm 25, and the video on Hebrews which can be found at http://bibleproject.com.
As we close out the month of November for 2017, I hope you have taken note of the many things you have to be thankful for.

Wednesday Update

I have two updates to share:

  • Rob Anderson is having some problems and additional testing is being done.  His parents are flying to be with Rob and the family.  Ora Lee asks you to please pray.
  • Jimmy Alford‘s doctor called him to say a team of doctors from Ochsner in New Orleans reviewed his case yesterday and decided he will have either radiation or chemo & radiation before Christmas.  We covet your prayers too.
