The children WILL have missions class at FBC, Kentwood tonight at 6 P.M.
Continue to pray for the many who are sick in our community. Some illnesses that are common at this time of year are hard to get rid of.
Bobbie Magee has good news. She is almost finished with her homebound days. Her illness was very serious. Her immune system was greatly weakened. I know she will be glad to be returning to a more normal routine.
Jeana Russell Lee-Newton is hopeful to be moved from the New Orleans area to Hammond before Christmas. This is not her first Christmas to be away from her family. Pray for all the family and all the other families not together for the holidays.
Mrs. Norma Muse is in ICU at North Oaks. She had a slight stroke Wednesday. Please pray for the Muse family.
Kathy Dale Forrest passed away. She was so well known that she will be missed by many. I’ll post an obituary when it becomes available. Please pray for the Forrest family.
Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you.
Instead, pay them back with a blessing.
That is what God has called you to do,
and he will grant you his blessing.”
~1 Peter 3:9 NLT, 2nd ed.~
David and I had a good visit with Johnny Belgard Tuesday. Four months in Ochsner was a long time. He is looking better. We thank God for his return to good health and for all your prayers for him. One of the benefits of his improved health is the opportunity to again teach his Sunday School class at FBC, Amite.
Kathy said that Chris Wales may be able to return home tonight depending on how well he does in physical therapy. Pray for Chris as he adjusts to his new knee,
Linda K. Graves is in Kentwood until Friday. Thank God she has this opportunity to visit with friends and church family for a few days.
Friday Morning Bible Study – FBC, Kentwood Fellowship Hall at 10:00; You are welcome to join us.
Christmas Joy Opportunity – Bring a book of Christmas stamps which will be placed on Christmas cards we already have and given to prisoners so they can communicate with family members during the Christmas Season. The deadline is December 4th.
Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off – November 14-21 at FBC, Kentwood.
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ ~Job 37:5-6 (NIV)~
Thankfulness Day 10 – I’m thankful for my grandson who has many outdoor skills/ love for country living, even though he was not raised in the country, leadership skills without being domineering, and is also very tenderhearted.
I hope you enjoyed “meeting my three grandsons”. Tomorrow, I will begin to introduce you to my three granddaughters.
Kaye Roberts asks for prayers for Joe and Susanne Crow. Joe has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will soon begin radiation. Your prayers will be appreciated.
Jeana Lee-Newton is back at home in Chesbrough following some extensive surgery at Ochsner. She is still in some pain, but able to get around. Thank you for praying for her. Please continue to do so.
We prayed for young Macy Gueldner and her family as she battled cancer. She had a check-up which showed her to still be clear of cancer. Please continue to pray for Macy and her family. Macy is enjoying school this year.
Reminder – If you have and Christian magazines, not books, that you no longer have any use for, please bring them to me. I have a contact to get them into a jail.
My comparison – This song reminds me of the hymn “Let it Begin in Me”. I have had this theme in my life for a while now. I hope you will listen to the Gaither Vocal Band and have the theme brought afresh to your life through “Let it Start with Me”. I heard them sing this a few months ago and then again last night on the regular Gaither program which was recorded at Joey and Rory Feek’s barn a couple years ago. My point today is that we each have to step up and be counted.
Plans are in the works for the children to experience missions as they have another opportunity to participate in Operation Christmas Child Wednesday at 6 P.M. Also, there’s several opportunities this week for adults to participate in meeting needs due to flooding. Let me know via email, Facebook, telephone call, or personal contact if you are interested in participating.
If you want to “Let it Start with Me”, we can make a difference. It’s not about me personally. It’s about each of us doing our part!
