Monday Addition

Ora Lee Wilson requests prayer for her son-in-law, Rob Anderson.  He is having emergency surgery now.  Not only that, but his wife, Sheila, is in Boston with no available flights out.  Their daughter, Sheila, had to leave to take a final.  Brandon, the youngest, is “in-charge” until Sheila can get there.  The family feels the stress of their complicated situation and would certainly appreciate your prayers.

Saturday, Second Addition

Mrs. Ruby Dillon developed A-fib about 9:00 this morning and has been moved back to the hospital, room 4113.  The doctor is thinking she will be there one or two nights while they adjust her medicine.

David and I visited his brother, Jimmy, this morning.  He looked good and said he felt good, but the doctors are sure he has a rapid growing cancer somewhere.  They will do more blood work Monday.  Jimmy will see the doctor Thursday.  Pray they can determine the location of the cancer, probably in the liver somewhere.

I just heard from pathology about the biopsies of Doug. One spot is early melanoma which is best case scenario they said, he will have it removed on Monday at 4:30 by Dr. Benson. The deep hole one on his temple and 2 others are what they call Squamous Cell which is best case as well. Dr. Benson will do those on Nov.1 and the deep hole will be done in Covington. So continued prayers please. You can word this however you want to. I just wanted to let you know and we appreciate the prayers and the continued ones as well.

Thank you,

Maddie’s Miracle

Please continue to pray for Maddie. She is still running a low grade fever. Pray for strength, doctors/direction and healing. Any one of her health issues is serious on its own. Kidney, liver and now lungs. God is good All the time and has brought her through so much. Thank you. (Written by her grandmother, Carol Ann Cleveland)

Maddie went to infectious disease doctor today for a checkup. This doctor is not sure we are dealing with pneumonia. She said they gave her Cadillac IV drugs in the hospital and that should’ve taken care of it. The new antibiotic they put her on Monday will not take care of interstitial pneumonitis. It is treated with steroids. They are ordering her a nebulizer for the house so she can get breathing treatments. She does believe this is a chronic disease and is caused by some type of auto immune condition. Please pray they figure this out quickly so she can get the meds she needs. Kidney doctor is going to call and discuss with other doctors to try to get a game plan. Please pray for our Maddie girl. God is still very good ALL the time.

Taylor Creek Baptist Church:

Please join us in praying for all the volunteer workers coming in today and tomorrow to hang the sheetrock.

Pray for the victims of hurricanes and fires across our country.  I don’t remember so many displaced people from different events at one time.  The children at church last night had their regular opportunity to pray.  Many of them prayed about this need.

Read the Bible – Acts 15-16 & Psalm 126

The Two Rivers Associational Annual Meeting will be at FBC, Kentwood Sunday night.  Members of all the churches are invited to participate.

Operation Christmas Child – Thanks to the adults and youth who stayed after regular services last night to help fold the flat shoeboxes into “shoeboxes” we will fill with many wonderful items in a few weeks.  We needed 125 more boxes folded.  That was quickly accomplished!  Look in the fellowship hall and see the boxes that will be going to children around the world with gifts and the opportunity to learn about Jesus.

We are still collecting money for shipping the boxes.  You can give your money through the regular offering as long as you mark it specifically for the postage for the boxes.  The last of the items needed for the boxes will be listed on a black clipboard under the stairs to the balcony.  Sign up for items you will bring during the next week.

The children’s craft last night was a lighthouse.  They were cute,  Even better than that was all the children singing “This Little Light of Mine” while holding their lighthouses. Let’s all strive to be a good witness today and allowing God to shine brightly through us.

Anna Lee
