David Bryant thanks you for praying for him. He has improved and been moved from ICU. Currently, the doctors are working to allow him to go home later today.

Mrs. Doris Booty Young moved to her new address, Heaven. Please be in prayer for her family members who have been left here without her.

“But the wisdom from above is pure first of all; it is also peaceful, gentle, and friendly; it is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds; it is free from prejudice and hypocrisy.”

PRAISE REPORT ON BILL MORRIS TO EVERYONE

We are home, praise the Lord, as of late yesterday! We give God all the glory, for truly He has done great things!

Please continue praying for Bill that he will regain his strength during the coming weeks.  He has a long way to go, but we are grateful for each step toward full recovery.  In time he will be up for visitors, but right now he needs to conserve his energy as he is still extremely weak.  He thanks each of you for praying for him, for the texts, cards, calls – every expression of love! You are spoiling him! Home Health will be a tremendous help to both of us as he recovers. For those who may not have heard, his final diagnosis was a rare type of pneumonia: Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia. (It was not Covid, as first suspected.)

Blessings to all of you; may the Lord Jesus bless you as you celebrate His coming to earth for our redemption! He is so good, and we have seen clear evidence, yet again, of His miraculous ways.

Velta and Bill

Update on John Henson of Roseland – John is now in ICU at North Oaks due to a recent stroke. Please be in prayer for him and his family.

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;

no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

~John 10:28 (NIV)~

Please pray for David Bryant of Amite who is in ICU with several issues.

Charlie Dykes’ heart procedure was postponed due to the number of Covid cases in the hospital at this time. Please continue to pray for him.

Pray for Marcia Weiburg’s parents who both have Covid-19.

Multiple Covid cases in families is common, but hard on family members who are caring for them, especially when one is hospitalized and one at home. Also, once there is a covid death in the family and still multiple cases, it seems to be extra hard.

Nursing homes and assisted living facilities continue to be hit hard. Often, patients don’t show any symptoms, but test positive. That is true for someone we know.

Thankfully, vaccines should be available soon. I’m looking forward to the day when the Covid numbers are much lower.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® is an annual offering collected by believers around the world to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially.

This offering is unique from other mission offerings in that 100% of gifts provide for missionaries all over the world. It is a valuable part of Southern Baptists’ 175-year history of reaching the nations with the gospel and vital to reaching the vision of a multitude from every language, people, tribe and nation knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 7:9).

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® is a registered trademark of Woman’s Missionary Union.

Jesus is the reason for this season and the Easter season!

MARY ELIZABETH COX LILLIE is better and out of ICU. Please continue to pray for her and her family.

JOHN HENSON has probably had a stroke. He is in North Oaks.

I have read that the area hospitals are having an increase in Covid-19 patients and had needed to increase the number of ICU beds. We have a big prayer need for the HOSPITALS, THE STAFF, AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS AREA.

I hope you have been praying for the LOTTIE MOON OFFERING for international missions work. The IMB, International Mission Board, has been celebrating 175 years of telling people all around the world about Jesus. Lottie Moon was an early single lady missionary when that was uncommon. The offering is named in her honor because of her dedication as a missionary and her encouragement of others to “give” to support those who “go”.

Lynette Kilcrease Duncan (Her Facebook post)

Some of y’all know I had emergency surgery in August to fix a detached retina. Good news is that surgery worked, and my retina is all better. Bad new is, I’ve had double-vision ever since. I had a second surgery today to, hopefully, correct that. I’m home and doing well. It will likely be a few weeks before I know how much the surgery helped. I’d appreciate prayers for a speedy recovery and for fully restored vision. ❤️

Please continue to pray for the Young family and the Morris family.

Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions

A group of American students recently gave money to have the book of 2 Timothy translated into a language that does not have the whole Bible for the people to read. The students gave their money through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering specifically for that purpose. What a wonderful way to share their funds! Now, people who did not have 2 Timothy available can read about young Timothy. I’ve had the whole Bible in English all my life. Now this people group is getting a Bible, book by book.

What an opportunity for anyone, but especially for young people! God must have big plans for their lives!

I’m so thankful for you! Let me know how I can better use TPL.

It didn’t post, but if you go to the Lottie Moon website, you can look at the top of the page and select “GO”.

Pray for decision-makers in this uncharted Covid-19 time.

I don’t always agree with the decisions made, but I realize I don’t have all the information they have to make the decisions. I know I don’t want the pressure and responsibility for the decisions made either.

I think we need to pray for those whose responsibility it is to make the decisions – that they have adequate information to make the decisions, rely on experience and wisdom, use their prayer life to guide them.

Be thankful for another day to live, love, pray, and worship God.

4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Today’s Prayer Focus

Today, let’s focus again on people who work in the medical field and who are exposed to Covid and other easily transmitted diseases. Thank God for their desire to help people in medical need even if they get exposed to diseases they wish to not take back to their families.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Southern Baptists want to take the news of Jesus to every nation and every people group. You can help with your support. 100% of your gift goes directly to missionaries and their evangelist efforts. Other needs are met through other funding.

Operation Christmas Child 2021

David had an appointment in Hammond yesterday. We don’t leave home often, so we took some time to shop and make purchases of items needed to make packets of school supplies which will be used in Dallas next year to add to boxes that do not have school supplies. We were blessed by a lady in line just ahead of us who was making purchases for classmates of her son for Christmas. She noticed our purchases just as we noticed hers!

“Pencil packs” contain many items other than pencils. We did pencil packs for out shoeboxes last year. My heart was again touched a few days ago when I read about a pencil being cut into eight pieces and each little part sharpened so everyone could have a “pencil”. May your heart be touched by needs of children. May you find a way to meet the physical and spiritual needs of children.

If you are interested in helping to shop for or pack “pencil packs” and/or shoeboxes for 2021, please let me know so I can tell you some of the items we need other than pencils. The “shoeboxes” and “pencil packs” we packed for 2020 are probably on their way to a country where they are needed to bless the lives of little children and to introduce them to Jesus.

I love to tell about “shoeboxes”. If you want me to help you, your church, or any organization with learning about how to help in 2021, I will be thrilled to do so. Starting early is one key to helping lots of children.

Sunday – Praising the Lord!

I told Velta that Kentwood would be praying. Many other people were/are too.

The latest update on Bill Morris, written by Dr. Art Morris, is that Bill was having more difficulty breathing and was moved to ICU. The doctor there studied the records carefully and found that Bill has had three Covid tests, none of which gave a positive result. They are working on a new diagnosis and plan of action.

More good news – Velta is there holding his hand! We had “talked” about that desire this morning.

Keep praying!
