Robin Alford is still improving from her last foot surgery. Becky Alford is continuing to stay with her. Continue to pray for both of them.
My high school class had a reunion yesterday. It is always good to see my school friends and to try to figure out who some of them are before they speak to you by name. Our paths in life have been different, but we all have some of the same experiences in life. That is the way it is with Christians. We have many different stories about our Christian faith, but we all know and love the same God.

Dennis Phillips
March 25, 1962 – September 29, 2022

James Dennis Phillips died peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 29th to the words of the 23rd Psalm. Truly he walked through the valley of the shadow of death through many years of poor health with the Lord shepherding him along the way. Dennis was the youngest of three sons born to Neal and Betty Phillips who both preceded him in death. His father was a minister of the gospel who baptized Dennis into the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Dennis lived in Tennessee, Texas, California, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He was a graduate of Loranger High School. Although he fathered no children, he was a step-father and mentor to several. Dennis was at one time or another a black belt in martial arts, a landscape painter, a solider, a preacher, a heavy equipment operator, and an artisan who made custom knives. He was not wealthy, but his first reaction to the attacks of 9/11 was to make knives to give to special operations soldiers who went into combat first. Dennis is survived by his older brothers David of Ellisville, Mississippi and Dwayne of Reston, Virginia. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 11:00AM until religious services at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Services conducted by Bro. Dale Ziebarth. Interment Loranger Cemetery, Loranger, LA. For an online guestbook, visit http://www.mckneelys.com.

FRIDAY

I have always loved spring because that is when I refresh my plants and choose new ones to try. Fall is a change from the HOT weather of summer. It comes in a strong second choice.
Better than both spring and fall put together is when Jesus comes back and I can live in heaven. Surely God has a beautiful environment for my heavenly home. I wonder….
Dana Hendry requests prayer for one of her daughters, Ferrin Grace, who has been hospitalized and given a number of tests to determine the cause in the change of her health. She’s home now and waiting for test results.

Many of you know of Louis Ruffino. His home burned last week. He is having some heart procedures. He recently lost his mother and cares for his sister., Rose. Pray for him to feel God’s presence as He walked beside Louis during this stressful and uncertain time. Louis has requested your prayers. May he look up to God during these struggles.
