Friday Afternoon

Melissa Johnson called to request prayer for her family.  Melissa’s uncle, Jose Martinez, passed away while on a Mediterranean cruise.  It will be a couple of weeks before the body can be sent home, so his wife, daughter, and son-in-law will fly in sooner.  A sudden death is hard, but these circumstances are much more difficult.  Melissa said he had his heart attack while doing something wonderful, a once-in-a-lifetime cruise.  Please pray for Melissa and all the family.  Melissa said Jose lived in Kentwood for many years so many of you will remember him.

Thursday Evening

I have some things I want to go ahead and share tonight.  Most of you won’t read it until Friday though.  I’ll also post in the morning.

Sylvester’s Humphrey

Syl’s surgery was delayed because of an emergency surgery that require the surgeon’s attention.  I talked with Shirley just before and after she talked with the doctor post-surgery.  The surgery went well.  Sylvester is in ICU now because of a vent, but is considered stable.  Let’s all pray he has a complete recovery in a timely manner.

Wednesday May 20, 2015

Doug stayed awake a little more today. He sat in a cardio chair about two hours. He tries to talk, but really needs to let his vocal cords heal. He was on the vent 12 days before it was removed. He was reintubated for gall bladder surgery, but thankfully just for a few hours. He still has a very long healing time ahead. Please continue to pray for Doug….

Joe Easley

Joe is back at home.  He has great friends who help him with his needs.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Please continue to pray for Sylvester Humphry.  He is in St. Tammany and very sick.  I know your prayers will be greatly appreciated.  As you are praying for him, thank God for his vision and dedication to the Hope Center.  Without him, Hope Center would not exist.  Pray for those who are “stepping up” to try to fill the shoes of Sylvester and Shirley while they are not able to be there.

I was blessed to see Mr. James W. Frazier and Miss Shira Easley yesterday.  They have come a long way since their surgeries.  Even though they have not been released by their doctors yet, they both are in God’s house and very thankful to be there.

Someone special to pray for today – Mrs. Hazel Smith

She tends to be rather quiet, but if you spend some time with her, you’ll soon see how important God has been and continues to be in her life.  Her faith is strong!  She is such a blessing to know.
