Thursday

Do not be anxious about anything,

but in every situation,

by prayer and petition,

with thanksgiving,

present your requests to God.

And the peace of God,

which transcends all understanding,

will guard your hearts

and your minds in Christ Jesus.

~Philippians 4:6-7~

Please continue to pray for Harrell Sharkey who is in Ochsner with an intestinal issue.  I know both he and his family will be appreciative of your prayers.

As you pray for the world and country today, please remember to pray specifically for our area too.  God is the solution to all our needs

Operation Christmas Child -“Irina and a Pencil Sharpener”  https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/shoebox-stories-irina-and-a-pencil-sharpener/  (Yesterday, David and I made another shopping trip for school supplies.  We were able to make purchases for a couple who wrote a check and allowed us to do the shopping for them.  Of course, we also made some additional purchases for ourselves too.  Once again, many people who saw us commented about me making purchases for my classroom.  We were able to tell them about Operation Christ Child.  Some knew what we meant, but some did not!  What a joy and blessing it was to help them understand OCC.  Again, I apologized to the cashier for the many items that had to be checked out individually, but as we talked, she told us how bless she was to check us out and learn about the shoeboxes.  That just doesn’t happen every time we check out!  The lady and young girl in front of us saw us putting the items on the counter and got interested.  She shared that her children have a garage sale and use the money they earn to pack shoeboxes.  Last time, her  two children packed 17 boxes!  We had the opportunity to encourage them to continue.  That was another blessing.  I wish we could have heard the conversation then had when they left….)

Now is the time to buy school supplies.  They are on sale now.  You can purchase fifty (50) spiral notebooks for less than $10.00.  We also need markers, crayons, glue sticks, pencil sharpeners, pencil boxes, etc.  Bring your items to my Sunday School classroom.  Thanks so much.  One day, we may be reading a Samaritan’s Purse story about a child who came to know the Lord because of the pretty markers packed in Kentwood, LA.

I was given some cash to shop for someone.  Thanks to a thrifty shopper we were able to buy bars of soap, enough to complete shopping for all the soap needed this year.  Thanks to the donor.  Thanks to the shopper.  If you would like a lady to shop for you, feel free to give cash.  Many more items are needed and you can be a part by contributing once or monthly.  You will help to make special memories for a child like Denis.

Children in Action and Mission Friends had the first meeting Wednesday.  We had some precious children who were anxious to sing, do, learn, pray, listen, etc.  We will meet again Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. in the L-wing.  Bring your children so they can be a part.

Have a great day tomorrow remembering and thanking God for the freedoms we have in America.
