Wednesday

Therefore confess your sins to each other

and pray for each other

so that you may be healed.

The prayer of a righteous person

is powerful and effective.

~James 5:16~

Mr. J.D. Smith will be having an outpatient procedure at 9:20 Thursday morning at Advanced Pain Management in Hammond.  He would appreciate your prayers.

Bobby Simpson‘s back procedure went well yesterday.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Macy Gueldner – I saved the best for last.  Macy is completing her chemo.  I am thrilled.  I remember when Macy’s grandmother contacted me to pray for Macy at the beginning.  Since then, the grandmother, Martha Drago, has had to fight a battle with cancer.  I am so thankful to know they are both doing so well today.

Go to the Caring Bridge and review the pictures and memories of our journey with Macy and her family.

Here it is, the end of the tunnel. Some roads throughout this journey seemed impassable, but somehow we triumphed and the light is now shining bright. I never thought it would be so difficult to find the words to describe my emotions. Despite the many tough hands that we’ve been dealt, I still keep my emotions private. But, this moment has brought forth  a surge of some of the most powerful and unexpected feelings that I’ve ever felt.
I feel a great sense of pride. I’m proud of my husband and our marriage. I’m proud of Cate. This has been a burdensome and exhausting journey for our family; however, our family bonds have only become stronger.
Macy has just 2 more weeks of chemo remaining. Tomorrow we will celebrate the end of her treatment in Baton Rouge. These doctors and nurses have become our family. They’ve been a weekly part of our lives for nearly 3 years. It will be sweet to leave the chemo behind, but so very bitter to say goodbye to everyone in our clinic who genuinely and deeply loves Macy.
To my dearest Macy,
You are a marvel. Your strength is immeasurable; your fight is valiant. You display a vast amount of courage. You love deeply. You show such resilience each and every day. You are my hero. You are my sunshine.
When I was 17 weeks pregnant with you, we were given the diagnosis of DS. I cried. I cried a lot. Then, I abruptly stopped and thought, “If anyone in the world has to stand behind you, to love you, to support you, it must be I. I am your mom.” And, I’ve been trying every day since that moment to be the very best mom to you. You make it easy for me.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, and the theme of your celebration, “You’re off to great places, today is your day. You’re mountain is waiting, so… get on your way.”
“Oh the places you’ll go!”

Monday

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD.

“Though your sins are like scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson,

they shall be like wool.

~Isaiah 1:18~

Immediately, my thoughts are “singing” “Whiter than Snow”.

It’s been a long time since I have thought of that hymn,

but the idea behind it is always so amazing.

I hope some of you ladies are up (not this early thought) and making plans to attend the associational WMU meeting in Montpelier this morning.  I’m looking forward to hearing the speaker tell of missions.

Contacting me: Someone has informed me they were sending me a message thought the “Contact” portion at the top of The Prayer Link page.  I didn’t get their message.  If you need to contact me and this doesn’t work for you, please send me an email or call me at home.  Thanks!  In the meantime, I will be working with my tech support.

Just looking at the skyline pictures each day reminds me of how differently many people live than the country life I live in this rural area.  Each city is a whole new world with so many lost people.  Let’s be reminded of our mission – Matthew 28: 19-20.  It doesn’t matter where we choose to “go and tell” as long as it is where He wants us to be.
