2 My Father’s house has many rooms;

if that were not so,

would I have told you that I am going there

to prepare a place for you?

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come back and take you to be with me

that you also may be where I am.

4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Shared by Butch Reviere –

My father-in-law, Rev. Willie J. Passman (a veteran of the Korean era) was received into the presence of our Heavenly Father just after 4pm yesterday, Nov. 14th. Visitation will be at Crain’s Funeral Home here in Franklinton Thursday from 5 til 9 and the celebration of his life and his Savior will be at Acy’s Creek Baptist Church Friday at 11:00am.

Thankfulness, Day 16 – Today, I’m thankful to have taught school so many, forty, years and to have hopefully impacted some knowledge, values, and Christian influence on hundreds of students.  It brings me great joy to see those students now and to get a hug and an update on their lives.

Wonderful reports!

  • Sherman Cutrer‘s heart corrected itself.  He is back home.
  • Sandy B. Morgan‘s platelets are improving enough she is out of bleeding danger and has been allowed to go home.
  • Thank you, Lord!

The Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Station collected boxes from seven groups/individuals yesterday.  We had plenty of help during the day.  The slow time between visits gave us the opportunity to visit.  I must say Day One was a success because of all the shoeboxes that are on the way to a boy or girl somewhere who may never have received a gift before or heard of Jesus.  I’m looking forward to Day Two!

Thankfulness Day 15:  I must say how thankful I am for Samaritan’s Purse and its Operation Christmas Child.  David and I have seen the gifts and delivery people as they traveled overseas, the gifts actually being delivered, and the workers as they traveled home.  I can only imagine how lives of boys and girls have been changed.  I’m sure many heard about Jesus and His love for the first time.

The Friday Morning Bible Study will complete John 11 this week.  Handouts will be available for the next chapter.  See you at 10:00.

Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight.                                                                                                                                         ~ Psalm 119:143 (NIV)~

Monday

Do not forget the covenant I have made with you,

and do not worship other gods.

Rather, worship the LORD your God;

it is he who will deliver you

from the hand of all your enemies.”

Thankfulness, Day14:  Today, I’m thankful FBC, Kentwood was asked to be a new drop-off location for the collection of shoeboxes.  We will be accepting shoeboxes for the next week beginning at 9:00 each day.  May God richly bless each child who receives a shoebox and each person involved in preparing and sending them around the world.

Please pray for Jeanna Lee-Newton and her family.  Her parents, Ricky and Brenda Russell of Chesbrough, went to check on her after church yesterday and were heartbroken when they saw her.  Many prayer are needed for this family.

Sandy Bennett Morgan, a former student, is hospitalized in Baton Rouge with a rare blood disorder.  Pray for Sandy, Paul, and Zach as well as other family members and the medical staff caring for her.  You may remember Zach’s Lids for Kids, collection of hats for sick children and delivery to numerous hospitals.  Sandy got Zach started on this and other ministries to help children with medical needs.

Please pray for Sherman Cutrer.  His is hospitalized in Baton Rouge with heart issues.  I’m sure your prayers will be appreciated.

Please continue to pray for Kenneth Birch and his back issues.  He has a procedure scheduled for December 7th.

David and I had a good visit with Johnny Belgard Tuesday.  Four months in Ochsner was a long time.  He is looking better.  We thank God for his return to good health and for all your prayers for him.  One of the benefits of his improved health is the opportunity to again teach his Sunday School class at FBC, Amite.

Kathy said that Chris Wales may be able to return home tonight depending on how well he does in physical therapy.  Pray for Chris as he adjusts to his new knee,

Linda K. Graves is in Kentwood until Friday.  Thank God she has this opportunity to visit with friends and church family for a few days.

Election Day!

Humble yourselves, therefore,

Be alert and of sober mind.

David went to the doctor yesterday thinking he was doing much better, but left with new concerns.  His  right eye was detaching again, so he had laser surgery.  His left eye was still swollen, so he had an eye injection.  We did not get approval to travel to Jason’s and will return to see the retina specialist in one week.  We are thankful David has some vision, but it is not enough for driving. Pray with us for better news at the next visit.

Thankfulness Day 5 – Today, I’m sharing my thankfulness for our son, Jason. He decided he also wanted a holiday birthday, so he waited a couple of weeks for the Fourth of July. I call him my “firecracker” because he adds excitement and fun to life, much like his dad.

Hymn: “Higher Ground”

Lyrics –

Higher Ground

I m pressing on the upward way
New heights I’m gaining every day
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

####Chorus:

Lord, lift me up and let me stand
By faith on heaven’s table land
A higher plane than I have found
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay
Tho’ some may dwell where these
abound
My prayer, my aim is higher ground.

####

I want to live above the world
Tho’ satan’s darts at me are hurled
For faith has caught the joyful sound
The song of saints on higher ground.

####

I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright
But still I’ll pray till heaven I’ve found
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Friday

Peace I leave with you;

my peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled

and do not be afraid.

Mr. Harlon Toney is recovering nicely following surgery last week.  He will be returning to the doctor next week and predicts he will be able to be at our Third Thursday Gathering in two weeks.  Please pray for Mr. Harlon’s health.

Linda K. Graves says she has had two good days and attributes them to prayers for her.  Keep praying for improvement.

Patrick Jordan, son-in-law of Gail Smith

Update on Patrick Jordan because I have gotten 10 texts today about him. He is the same. Mental state not there yet. Still in a fog. He is extremely exhausted. We have a big road in front of us. He is being released from Baptist Hospital on Monday. Then will be transferred to a rehab facility that specializes in physical and occupational therapy. I have no idea at the moment which facility because I am viewing them tomorrow. I pray he comes around next week because I desperately want my husband to look at me the way he normally does and not the glassy/glossed over eyes I see daily. On a positive note he keeps me laughing and after lunch today informed the nurses we were going to a snoop dog concert😆😂😆! That was funny and boy I needed that. I need to pray for patience and how to maneuver through all this. I barely see the kids juggling between home and the hospital being mom and dad in one person. If my kids have clean clothes, fed, homework and projects done and all the extras that come along that is a good day.👍🏻😜I would like to personally thank my mom for being my partner through all this and keeping me sane. I love you mom! You are the best! ⭕️😘❤️

David will be seeing his retina specialist this afternoon.  David’s gas bubble is slowly decreasing in size allowing him to see better.  We’ll be glad to get the doctor’s viewpoint.

Thankfulness, Day 4 – Jennie

Our daughter was God’s gift to us early on a Christmas morning.  There are many words I could use to describe her, but I will just say she is the greatest Christmas gift we have ever been given.  Thank you, God, for allowing us to be part of her life.
