Election Day!

Humble yourselves, therefore,

under God’s mighty hand,

that he may lift you up in due time.

Cast all your anxiety on him

because he cares for you.

Be alert and of sober mind.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion

looking for someone to devour.

~1 Peter 5:6-8~

Pray for Kathy Jo Thompson as she faces some side-effects from her last brain procedure.  Thank God she has come this far since the first surgery.

Marilyn Phillips of Texas is preparing to join her husband overseas where he will be teaching.  Marilyn’s mother, Nancy Phillips,  is not healthy.  Pray for the transition and the health issues.

Chris Wales‘ surgery went well.  He’ll be home in a few days to have his rehab done here.  Please continue to pray all goes well for him.

Billie Callihan Strahan grew up in a large family in Roseland.  I saw her recently when Karen Callihan Dykes passed away.  Billie is hospitalized in Baton Rouge.  Please pray for her and her family.

The rain was very welcomed at my house last night.  I’m looking forward to slightly cooler temperatures.

Today is the election day!  Let’s pray, then vote!

Thankfulness, Day 8 – I want to describe each of my grandchildren and tell you I am thankful for each one.  I’ll not name them or list them in a particular order.  Maybe, you will see some characteristics of one of your grandchildren.  Today’s grandchild has a love for technology and is methodical.  For the most part he is quiet, but not always.

“Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven” (1 Timothy 6:18-19a TLB).

“Satisfied with Jesus”

“I am satisfied, I am satisfied,
I am satisfied with Jesus,
But the question comes to me,
As I think of Calvary,
Is my Master satisfied with me?”
