that far outweighs them all.

Scripture Writing – I John 2:9-11

The rain to the south is making use of my satellite impossible.  I’ll try again this afternoon.

Second try – Still morning!

Pray for fifteen (15) volunteer missionaries from Montpelier Baptist Church who have now arrived in Nicaragua.  They have made a collected items since their last trip and involved their entire church in the project.  They go once or twice each year.  Great work is done while they are there.

Some members of FBC, Greensburg will soon be going to Haiti next month. This is a also a repeat for some of their members.  I think I heard the number seven (7), but am sure someone will help me with a correction if that is not accurate. Pray for them as they continue to collect and pact items to give to the people there.

David Bryant has been transferred to Ochsner with surgery possibly on Tuesday.  Please pray for David and his family.

the earth beneath barred me in forever.

But you, LORD my God,

brought my life up from the pit

~Jonah 2:6~

Last night, as I was preparing the devotional for tonight’s Ladies’ Night: Upsy-Daisy, I found this verse in my inbox.  It fits perfectly!  It was a God-wink!  I think we all need Scriptural reminders periodically.  God has them waiting for us!

Speaking of Ladies’ Night, it’s tonight at 6:15.  I hope each of you area ladies will be coming and bringing a guest or two.  Remind your friends from area churches.  Do it now.  If you put it off, it will be too late tomorrow.

Our musical guests will be back at popular request.  We’ll have Heather and Emily Miller sharing their talents on the violins.  You don’t want to miss these two young ladies. Not only are they talented, but they use their talents for the Lord.

Jennie has been here for two days.  What a surprise she gave us!  What a blessing it has been to visit, shop, and eat together!  She’ll begin her flights home about noon today.  I know her family has missed her.  They were so excited about surprising us.  We were shocked, but so pleased.  In about  twenty years of living far away, this was a first!

Please feel free to pray for her as she travels home and begins to adjust to the seven hour time difference.  Thank God for the opportunity she had to come to the states and learn some things that will impact her work with those who are learning new languages.

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
     For His mercy endures  forever.
Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!
     For His mercy endures forever.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
     For His mercy endures forever:
Him who alone does great wonders,
     For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,
     For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who laid out the earth above the waters,
     For His mercy endures forever;
To Him who made great lights,
     For His mercy endures forever —
The sun to rule by day,
     For His mercy endures forever;
The moon and stars to rule by night,
                                                               For His mercy endures forever.”                                                               ~Psalm 139:1-9~

Mr. J.D. Smith will be having an outpatient procedure at 9:20 Thursday morning at Advanced Pain Management in Hammond.  He would appreciate your prayers.

Bobby Simpson‘s back procedure went well yesterday.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Macy Gueldner – I saved the best for last.  Macy is completing her chemo.  I am thrilled.  I remember when Macy’s grandmother contacted me to pray for Macy at the beginning.  Since then, the grandmother, Martha Drago, has had to fight a battle with cancer.  I am so thankful to know they are both doing so well today.

Go to the Caring Bridge and review the pictures and memories of our journey with Macy and her family.

Here it is, the end of the tunnel. Some roads throughout this journey seemed impassable, but somehow we triumphed and the light is now shining bright. I never thought it would be so difficult to find the words to describe my emotions. Despite the many tough hands that we’ve been dealt, I still keep my emotions private. But, this moment has brought forth  a surge of some of the most powerful and unexpected feelings that I’ve ever felt.
I feel a great sense of pride. I’m proud of my husband and our marriage. I’m proud of Cate. This has been a burdensome and exhausting journey for our family; however, our family bonds have only become stronger.
Macy has just 2 more weeks of chemo remaining. Tomorrow we will celebrate the end of her treatment in Baton Rouge. These doctors and nurses have become our family. They’ve been a weekly part of our lives for nearly 3 years. It will be sweet to leave the chemo behind, but so very bitter to say goodbye to everyone in our clinic who genuinely and deeply loves Macy.
To my dearest Macy,
You are a marvel. Your strength is immeasurable; your fight is valiant. You display a vast amount of courage. You love deeply. You show such resilience each and every day. You are my hero. You are my sunshine.
When I was 17 weeks pregnant with you, we were given the diagnosis of DS. I cried. I cried a lot. Then, I abruptly stopped and thought, “If anyone in the world has to stand behind you, to love you, to support you, it must be I. I am your mom.” And, I’ve been trying every day since that moment to be the very best mom to you. You make it easy for me.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, and the theme of your celebration, “You’re off to great places, today is your day. You’re mountain is waiting, so… get on your way.”
“Oh the places you’ll go!”
