  “In due season

God will judge everything man does,

both good and bad.”

-Ecclesiastes 3:17 (LB)-

Daddy developed pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital last night.  There was no room in step-down, so he was put in room 3016 ICU.

From my sister this morning – Daddy sounds much better.  They did new X-rays this morning; showed improvement… They will move Daddy to step down unit once a bed is available.

Lara (Lara’s Gowns for Smiles) was checked at MD Anderson.  The doctor there was not concerned.

GREAT NEW for Lara!! POWER of PRAYER!! Keep them coming

Message from her mom, Nikki
Great news! Second MRI finished. Dr. Heinrich decided against biopsy. She will repeat MRI in six weeks. Chemo is being resumed. Lesson learned…listen only to the specialist!

Rufus Williams is doing well and should be home some time later today.

Don’t forget the things that will be needed Monday to help Susan Dufrene with Lara’s Gowns for Smiles and Purses for a Purpose – fabric and new socks and underwear.  For Purses with a Purpose, we will need purses and items to put in the purses – tissue, bracelets, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, files, small notebooks, pens, crayons, etc.

The work in the library at the mission office went well yesterday.  Day two will begin today.  Pray that today will be as productive as yesterday.

Devotional – Our Daily Bread – “Too Blessed” – http://odb.org/

We don’t need more to be thankful for, we just need to be more thankful.

Friday

“[God] is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,

according to the power that works in us.”

~Ephesians 3:20~

Jan Yarborough was released from the hospital yesterday and went to her sister’s for the night.  Today, they will come to Jan’s.  Thank God Jan’s surgery went well and that her sister is available to help her until she is moving around a little better.

Austin Rose has had some ups and downs the last couple of days, but mainly ups!  He has even been able to go our for a little basketball.  His hair is thinning some, but that is a small price to pay to eliminate cancer.  Keep praying.

Jimmy Dufrene is still undergoing tests to determine what his problem is.  Susan, of Lara’s Gowns for Smiles, is sticking close by.  Pray for endurance for her and answers for Jimmy.

Last night, we had our Third Thursday Meeting.  It was such a blessing to me.  Jimmy Schwartz, fresh out of the hospital, came.  That thrilled my heart.  Our new participant was Ruby Schwartz.  She even sang “In the Presence of Jehovah” for us.  Andy Taylor led our worship time.  Mr. Harlan Toney sang too and made me smile, as usual.  Six churches were represented!  To God be all the glory!

Inspirational – A Moment of Truth – “Thankful for Your Service” – http://moments.org/thank-you-for-your-service/

If we consider those who have served in out military over the years, we will realize they helped make our present world possible for us to enjoy.  Last month, I asked Andy Taylor to sing “Thank You” at our gathering last night.  He did.  We have many people to thank for our Christian background and our growing in the Lord.  That’s what the song says so well for me.

Another day and more opportunities to serve so we can make a difference for God!

Thursday

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,

for You will answer me.”

Jan Yarborough is progressing nicely after her knee replacement Monday at Our Lady of the Lake.  Today, a decision will be made about her rehab.  It could be at Baton Rouge.  If not, she will come home today.  Pray the decision will be the one that is to her greater benefit.

Continue to pray for Jimmy Schwartz and his family.  He is still at North Oaks.

Ashlyn DeBlanc’s surgery went well yesterday.  She should be able to come home today.  Pray her rehab goes smoothly so she can get back to her normal life.

Jimmy, the husband of Susan Dufrene who sews all the hospital gown for children with cancer, developed low blood pressure and stoppage of his heart yesterday.  He is hospitalized in Thibodaux.  Pray he gets the proper treatment to return to his normal life.

Pray for peace and unity in our country.

“God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life ….

And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver.

It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

God chose him as your ransom long before the world began.”

Jimmy Schwartz is still hospitalized at North Oaks.  As you pray for him, pray for his family.

Chris and Kathy are “tickled pink” to have Kristen and family at their new home in Baton Rouge.  Their military career is complete, so they will be working to establish a civilian life.  When you see them, thank them for their service to our country.

Rafe Cutrer  has completed three days of therapy to help build upper body strength.  So far, he seems to be progressing very well.  Thank-you for praying for his for three weeks of therapy.

Austin Rose

Well I am learning that there will be good days and bad days. Friday was terrible… Nausea, vomiting, nose bleeds… Ended up on medicine that made him sleep, which was great, but we missed having him alert and awake. Luckily, Saturday was better. Even had a visitor ( thank you for coming) and dad brought in a pan of Chicken Alfredo. Austin ate more last night than he has in over 2 weeks. They are starting to prep me for what I will have to do at home ( no fun) but going home sounds good. Keeping fingers crossed that we get discharged tomorrow afternoon. Will keep y’all posted. Please continue to pray for his healing.

My aunt and my brother-in-law’s mother (the same person)

Eva Smith is having a pacemaker implanted this morning in northern Alabama.  Pray for her, the medical staff, and her family.

Pat Felker called to say her dad, Kenneth Felker, is now a resident for the Kentwood Nursing home.  Mr. Kenneth would appreciate your visits.
