today

and forever.”

~Hebrews 13:18~

John Orr

You may remember that my aunt passed away the last day of 2013.  Even though he misses her, her husband is doing well.  What a blessing for his family!

Steve Hatchel

Mr. Steve will probably be moved from ICU to a step-down room today.  Pray for him and the family as they wait for the lab report.  Pray for Boyd as he spends these days with his mom and dad.

Bad Weather

The weather has been rough in the southeast this week.  Several friends have been hit by the storms.  This is an example of the wonderful attitude of God’s people in Madison, MS.

To all my FB family and friends: The power has come on and we are so happy to have lights and air again. The tornado was pretty rough here, our damage is mainly roof and wind damage and inside we have water damage because of leaks, etc. It is just all “stuff” and can be fixed. Both Billy and I are fine, and we know that things could have been worse. God has blessed us with much help from family and friends. Members of our Church (Broadmoor) have been here helping and friends brought food. God is so good as He uses them to bless us and others. He provides for us at all times. Pray for our neighbors. We believe their damage is worse than ours. Thanks so much for your care and concern.

Eva Smith

Eva fell yesterday morning, had tests at the hospital, and was returned to her room.  Thankfully, the tests did not show any broken bone.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.  We just heard Phil Campbell, AL had bad weather last night.  It was exactly three years ago that Eva lost her home in a tornado there.

Steve Hatchel

I don’t have an update yet this morning, but keep on praying for Mr. Steve and his family.

“Christ in the Storm”

http://odb.org/2014/04/29/christ-in-the-storm/

How timely!  Yes, Jesus is with us in every storm of life.  That includes weather, medical problems, family situations, etc.  Always know, you can turn to Him, no matter what storm you are going through.

“Caught in the Storm”

http://www.juliabettencourt.com/dev/stormdev.html

These devotionals have the same message.

38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.  The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
~Mark 4: 38-40~

“Master, the Tempest is Raging”

http://cyberhymnal.org/htm/m/a/mastertt.htm

This song is one of my standbys for days like yesterday and today.

I have family and friends in several kinds of “tempest” right now.  I know God is assuring all of us to be still and obey His will.  Claim that Scripture and song on days like this.

“Learning to Love” –  http://odb.org/2014/04/27/learning-to-love/

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and           with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
