“Come to me,

all you who are weary and burdened,

and I will give you rest.

~Matthew 11:28~

Burdens Are Lifted at Calvary

1. Days are filled with sorrow and care,
Hearts are lonely and drear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

CHORUS:
Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Calvary, Calvary;
Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Jesus is very near.

2. Cast your care on Jesus today,
Leave your worry and fear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

3. Troubled soul, the Savior can feel
Every heartache and tear.
Burdens are lifted at Calvary,
Jesus is very near.

Pray for those in rehab and nursing homes.

Thank God Frances Strickland had the opportunity to move into an assisted living home and make adjustments before she lost her sister who so faithfully cared for her for many years.  Say for special prayers for her as she faces the future.

Pray for the Blackwell and Turner families as they lay loved ones to rest tomorrow.

Koltyn Gafford (Written by his mom)

Koltyn’s procedure went well today. He ended up having to have 4 teeth extracted (tooth fairy better have lots of cash tonight) once the dentist was able to get a better look after he was sedated. A side effect to the storming caused him to clench his jaws and grind his teeth causing a good many of his lower teeth to shift and loosen up as well as chipping and breaking a lot of bone structure. He did very well during the procedure and is back on meds and will soon be resuming his normal feeding schedule. He has shown some good improvements within the past few days of therapy and will continue in the days to come.
Some of you may already know that our tentative discharge date is scheduled for Friday, February 13th and this past week has been extremely rough for us. Reality has officially set in that this is our new life & thank God he’s still with us but it isn’t going to be an easy one! I have cried every day this week and I know there will be many more days and weeks like this in the future but knowing that one day I will see our lil Koltyn Bradley’s sweet body restored brand new is the absolute greatest blessing of all!

Freida Jones

Pray for Freida Jones, formerly of Kentwood, who will be having a heart cauterization today.  Pray for the skill of those involved in the procedure and for peace for her as she submits to the medical staff.  Also, pray for her  family as they wait during the procedure.

Mansell Stenson

Pray for Mansell as he sees a surgeon Tuesday about a procedure.

Mr. Cush Shaw

Pray for the brother of Mrs. Katherine Kuss and Coach Elton Shaw.  He’s in a room again.  He had a good day yesterday following the day before that was not so good.  Pray for his family as they continue to stand by to help in so many ways.

Mrs. Kathryn Kuss

“Miss” Kathryn saw her cardiologist yesterday and got a good report.  Let’s thank God for the special lady who is looking forward to turning 90 in May.

Martha Griffith

Martha is improving.  She made a trip back to Hammond for a check-up yesterday.  Keep her in your prayers as she continues to improve.

Mrs. Hazel Smith

“Miss” Hazel continues to be able to stay by herself.  Her girls come to her house “as needed” at her request.  She is enjoying company and reading.

Mrs. Hellen Morris

“Miss” Hellen is in rehab in McComb.  She appreciates those who visit, call, or write to her.

Mrs. Susie Wales

This amazing lady had a “bad” day one day last week, but answered the phone the next day and was able to talk to Chris in French!  He is as amazed as all the rest of us. She also enjoys visits and calls.

Rene Deck Terrell

Mr. Luther said she is having back and neck issues again.  Keep her in your prayers.

Barbara Bennett Gaines

I’ve known Barbara all her life and taught her at school and in church.  She had an area on her lung that required surgery.  The results show she will need treatment. Join with me in praying for this sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who has a strong faith.

Two Funerals

FBC, Kentwood will have two funerals for members Saturday.  Pray for both families and for the church as we minister to both families.

  1. Check the table in the hallway for February bags listing supplies for the shoeboxes we will pack later this year.
  2. Choose as many bags from the “Individuals” or “Classes” boxes as you wish.
  3. Make those purchases at stores like Dollar General and Dollar Tree.
