Smiley E. Conerly

Smiley E. Conerly, a devoted husband, Dad, Papa, and loyal friend went to meet his Lord June 30, 2020. The name “Smiley” was a perfect fit for him because he lived his life with love and laughter, and he found joy in all circumstances. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important—serving His Lord and the simplicity of living life with those you love.

“When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

~James 1:2–4 NLT~

Smiley Conerly is still in Hattisburg.  Please continue to pray for Smiley and his family.

Buddy Morris has completed his chemo.  He is scheduled for a scan Thursday.

Lori and Keith Rhodes

Quick update for our Facebook family.

After seeking wisdom from friends and professionals, we have decided to begin the process of moving Lori to hospice care. She is in a transition program now that will aid in moving her from home health to hospice.

Continue to keep her in your prayers. She still has her great sense of humor and loves to laugh. She has so many friends and family that check in on her regularly. Thank you guys for loving on my bride. As she said today, “I’m still praying for a miracle.”

Note: Moving her to hospice doesn’t mean that she’s at death’s door. That’s a common misconception about hospice and many people wait too late to make this move. We plan on her being around for a long time!!

Please continue to pray for Lori, Keith, and the family!

Andy and Betty Taylor are doing well quarantined at home.

Susan Rimes is looking forward to her next step – occupational therapy.

Friday

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you,

then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,

whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates,

or the gods of the Amorites,

in whose land you are living.

But as for me and my household,

we will serve the LORD.”

~Joshua 24:15~

Please be in prayer for Susan Rimes today.  She will be in Covington at 6 A.M. this morning for wrist surgery to repair broken bones in her wrist.  She should be home before noon.  Susan will be thankful when the surgery takes away her pain.  She looks forward to occupational therapy  beginning next week to her her return to being able to use her hand.  Please pray for Susan as she goes through surgery and therapy to regain use of her right hand.

Scott Tolleson, my cousin who has lived in Shreveport the past few years, passed away yesterday at the age of 64.  He has suffered for many years with Huntington’s Disease.  Today, he is rejoicing in heaven with family members, some of whom are like Scott and now healed of HD.  Scott was the greatest soul winner I have ever known!  He loved God and family with all his heart!
