We have snow again! I haven’t been outside, but according to  the road closure list, it is best to stay in and wait until the temperature warms up and the snow and ice melts.  If you have something scheduled for the next couple days, it may be wise to make a phone call to see if that appointment, etc. has been cancelled.

We had a very good WMU meeting yesterday honoring three ladies who had been active in WMU who were “called home” during 2017.  Dr. Ernest Graham presented a good message about how family influences our love of missions and serving God.

Sunday, I was pleased when two ladies handed me calendars for the inmates at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.  I hope you have to extra calendars to share too.  If not, they are easily available and probably reduced in price by now.  The calendars should have staples, not spiral rings.  Keep you eyes open for 2018 calendars!

Here’s a perpetual need you, your family, class, or church may want to help with.  Earlier this week, I was contacted to see if I had any more new or used paperback Bibles for the inmates at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail ministry.  Yesterday, we made that delivery.  They were so pleased to have the Bibles you gave.  I will continue to collect the Bibles for the next delivery.  I was also asked for 2018 calendars.  They need to be put together with staples, not the wire spirals.  If you have paperback Bibles and/or calendars, please give them to me or place them in the tote under the stairwell to the balcony of FBC, Kentwood.  Thanks!

The Friday morning Bible study will be at 10 A.M. this morning.  We will study Ezekiel 34-35.  You are welcome to join us in the fellowship hall this morning.

Very cold temperatures are coming to our area again.  Be prepared.  Check with others to make sure they have what they need to be prepared.

Sunday

1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
