Pray for Mrs. Joann Travis. She has had a recent leg procedure.

Andy Taylor said he has had some problems with recent changes in his medication. Keep Andy and Betty in your prayers.

Pray for Renee Terrell who had a fall yesterday when a dog tripped her up. She has several sore areas.

Also, thank God Mrs. Carol Jean Gill is okay after a fall because of her dog that landed her in a fire ant bed that Mr. Fernie Ray had poisoned the night before. Thankfully, she had no ant bites.

Mrs. Othell Williams is in Camelot Community Care and doing well. She will soon celebrate her 97th birthday.

Tuesday Morning: They started Ronnie on dialysis, the doctors didn’t want to wait any longer because He was starting to get an infection.

Wednesday: Ronnie is doing better, doctors may remove him off dialysis tonight. If he continues to do good, he may be going home tomorrow we hope. “Isn’t GOD GREAT”

Jennie Grace Ridgedell Frohn

September 29, 1932 – March 05, 2019

Jennie Frohn, 86, of Amite, Louisiana passed away peacefully on March 5, 2019. Jennie was born on September 29, 1932 to the late Thomas J. and Grace Hayden Ridgedell. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Tom Ridgedell, Jr., Wade Ridgedell, and C.W. Ridgedell, and two sisters, Helen Ridgedell and Evelyn Ridgedell Bennett. Jennie graduated from Amite High School. She married the love of her life, Robert Henry Frohn on January 22, 1955. They just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. They were lifelong residents of Amite, Louisiana. Because of her love of flowers, she fulfilled her dream by owning and operating Frohn’s Florist and Gifts for many years. She was a dedicated Christian lady who shared her love of God with her family and friends. Some of her favorite pastimes included being outside gardening, cooking delicious meals, and playing bridge. She is survived by her husband, Robert Frohn; sister, Jenelle Ridgedell Lawrence, Baker, LA; sister-in-law, Jill Ridgedell; one daughter, Alison Frohn Field and husband, Ricky, Amite, LA; three grandchildren; Christopher Bordelon, Hammond, LA; April Field Kemp and husband Jonathan, Hammond, LA; and Richard Henry Field and wife Kelly, Amite, LA; and three great granddaughters, Grace Kemp, Gretchen Field and Hayden Field; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. John “Jack” Ernest Capdau

June 14, 1928 – March 03, 2019

A resident of Amite passed away at Tulane Medical Center on Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was born June 14, 1928 in New Orleans and was 90 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Sharon McDaniel Capdau; five children, two step-children, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at Pine Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00AM conducted by Pastor Rev. Betty McCarver. A meal and fellowship at the church will follow services.

James W. (Jimmy) McGraw

June 05, 1948 – February 27, 2019

James W. (Jimmy) McGraw of Amite, Louisiana, and beloved husband of Carolyn Moore McGraw for 49 years, died peacefully at home on February 27, 2019, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jimmy was born June 5, 1948, to Margaret and Robert West McGraw. He grew up in Woodville, Mississippi, and graduated in 1966 from Woodville Attendance Center where he excelled in academics and athletics. Jimmy received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Mississippi State University in accounting and data processing. He was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Amite. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Rogers, Roy, and Robert McGraw. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and two sons, David Brian McGraw (Susan Esteven) and Michael Scott McGraw. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Tristen Brian McGraw, Keaten David McGraw, Presley Susan McGraw and Michael West McGraw and numerous nieces and nephews. Also his little dog, Sweetie Pie, who stayed by his side during his illness. One of Jimmy’s greatest passions was his love of family. He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and introduced zip-lining, snorkeling, indoor skydiving and deep sea fishing to them at an early age. Jimmy was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Mississippi State Bulldogs, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres play ball. Jimmy also enjoyed all holidays as was evident in his vast collection of decorations and yard art. He loved animals, and, of course, loved Miss. State bulldogs. The family would like to thank all of Jimmy’s health care providers, Dr. Saux, all the personnel, especially Lisa King and Kathy Mason at St. Joseph’s Hospice and Dr. Zachary Pray for the excellent care he received during his illness. We would especially like to thank Jimmy’s dearest childhood friend, Lewis Prine, for the numerous hospital visits and trips he made with Jimmy to M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14 with visitation from 9 to 11 and service at 11:00 at the First United Methodist Church in Amite, Louisiana. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will follow the memorial service at Claire’s on Mulberry. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph Hospice and the youth fund at the First United Methodist Church in Amite.

A resident of Amite passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Kentwood. She was born February 6, 1943 in Ft. Sill, OK and was 76 years of age. She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Aimee Garner and husband, Richard, of Kentwood, LA; 3 stepdaughters, Geralyn McGuire and husband, Kevin, of San Diego, CA, Dawn Abernathy and husband, James, of Amite, LA and Lori Webb of Amite, LA; grandchildren, Hailey Rainey, Shane Abernathy, Meghan McGuire, Alayna Garner, Alyce Garner, Avery Garner, and Dillon Jeansonne; 1 sister, Kay Gay and husband, Donald, of Amite, LA; 2 brothers, John Currier of Luling, LA and Ronald Currier of Baton Rouge, LA. Shoeboxes don’t get packed in a big way in October/November unless shopping begins early. Suggested items to look for now include small cars, small plastic animals, small stuffed animals, and small dolls. Items can be left in the classroom next to the choir. Thank-you for helping now and in the coming months. One suggestion is to make some purchases each month, not to wait until the last minute.

Allen Stewart had skin grafts from burn injuries and was released from the hospital yesterday. Pray for him as he heals. We all know burns are painful.

Update on Mike Yarborough:

Prayers are Powerful! ! ! The cauterizing of the ulcer seems to be holding. Mike’s blood count is up and he’s been moved out of ICU. Hoping for a discharge today or tomorrow. I’ll be flying up there Monday morning for a week hoping to keep him from over doing it when he does get home. Thanking all of you for your prayers and concerns. I’m forever grateful. Also say a prayer for me as I’m be on that plane.

John is experiencing some swelling which is causing difficulty in swallowing. Pray this doesn’t last long!!

Margaret Jean Redmond

April 05, 1937 – February 20, 2019

Margaret Jean Redmond passed away on February 20, 2019. Margaret was born in Grenada, Mississippi on April 5, 1937. She was a lifelong resident of Greensburg, Louisiana. She was retired and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved classic movies and to read, cook and host holidays for her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Franklin W. Redmond of Greensburg, Louisiana. Margaret had two sons, Frank Redmond, a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana and Paul Redmond, a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Margaret had two grandsons, Collin Redmond of Prairieville, and Matthew Redmond who preceded her in death and will embrace his grandma again in heaven. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. There will be a memorial service for her at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood, Louisiana on Saturday, March 2 from 1:00 until 4:00.

Katherine “Faith” Brewer Rohner

Katherine “Faith” Brewer Rohner, a resident of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019. She was born March 25, 1939 in Houma and was 79 years of age. She was a retired director and educator with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. She is survived by her sister, Susie Bardwell, Houston, TX; niece, Amy W. Evans and husband, Jimmy, and their children, Katie, Jamie, and Matthew of Denham Springs, La; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by special friends, Tiny and Freddie Carter and their children, Matt, Amy, and Cindy. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Rohner; parents, Kate and Henry Brewer; sister, Janis B. Williams. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019. There continue to be many families and individuals to pray for. One way you can minister to them is to share a mutual story, memory, or photo. Serving others helps you take the focus off yourself!

As a child, I remember a Sunday School class at Roseland Baptist Church named “JOY”. A sign on the door said

J – Jesus first

O – Others second

Y – Yourself last.

I do not remember who the members of the class were, but I often think that real joy does come from placing Jesus and others before myself.

Pray for Bryan and Rita Tate as they spend most of this month in Texas for his treatment at MD Anderson.

Sometimes you get off to a slow start, but work hard to catch up. That seems to be true for Operation Christmas Child. They suggest you purchase, make, and gather quality crafts for the shoeboxes that will be packed in the fall. Feel free to bring your items to the Sunday School classroom next to the choir room. She was a member of the Greensburg Chapter of Eastern Star and Louisiana Teachers Association and a member of Red Bluff Baptist Church. She is survived by 1 daughter, Belinda Moreland; 3 sons, Clyde Harrell, Jr. and wife Marlene, Brent Harrell, and Lake Harrell; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde Harrell, Sr.; 1 daughter, Melanie Harrell Sharp; mother, Bernadine Wagner; father; Christian P. Jennie met up with Boyd at the Atlanta airport. Her plane was late and his was early so they managed to fly on to Richmond together where they will be in IMB meetings for the next week or so. David and I survived the first day without her wonderful help.

Jason Dean‘s gall bladder surgery went well this morning. Pray for Jason as he recovers.

Becki Alford, our daughter-in-law, is probably going to have the same surgery soon. Please pray for Becki and her family.

Friday is a big day for the unspoken prayer request I have been asking for you to pray about.

Please be in prayer for the many families who have lost a loved one recently.

Also, pray for families with a lost, unsaved, family member. Pray that family member will make the decision to turn their life and their eternity over to God.

Pine Ridge is having its monthly breakfast benefit at 8:00 this morning. Enjoy a great breakfast and help someone with a special need.

FBC, Kentwood is having a blood drive today. It was in the Lighthouse (old post office) last year. Stop by to make a difference. Yesterday, the head oncologist at Ochsner said there is only one source of blood, people. So people who can, give some to help others!

If I have my dates right, this morning there is a breakfast for ladies at 8;45 and a brief speaker before Sunday School at FBC, Kentwood.

Think about your life this week. Who has physical needs? Who has spiritual needs? Who has other needs? I think this will give you lots of opportunity for prayer.
