Thankful to be home! God watched over us all day. We had a lack of heavy traffic, successful procedures, adequate recovery time, and a safe home despite the vehicle in front of us losing two pieces of plywood which went flying and tumbling through the air landing in the left (other) lane. Thank-you to each of you who prayed.  Thank-you again!  David feels so much better today!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,

for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly

about my weaknesses,

That is why, for Christ’s sake,

I delight in weaknesses,

in insults,

in hardships,

in persecutions,

in difficulties.

For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Dan Turner

Great news everybody! Today, I successfully completed the medical trial and met criteria to have the intrathecal Baclofen (ITB) pump surgically implanted. I am scheduled to see the neurosurgeon that will perform my surgery on 8/31. The surgery will be scheduled when I see him. It’s pretty cool—it’s the same neurosurgeon that helped keep me alive during my 3-week ICU stay at UMC. His name is Dr. Shiflett and he earned my respect and admiration while seeing his meticulous attention to detail when we worked together, during my helicopter years at UMC. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support over the past few weeks. We can mark this one down as, “prayers answered”.Great news everybody!
