Prayer Focus

Today, let’s pray for those we meet in the grocery store, the post office, etc. These people have problems, just like us. May we be kind and encouraging to them. Then, may we be kinder to our own families and those we see on a regular basis.

Missions

Southern Baptists have three mission programs that each have their own special offerings.

As we move toward the first missions offering, please thank God for the Cooperative program which helps give each of offortunity to support these offerings – Georgia Barnette (Louisiana). Annie Armstron (North America), and Lottie Moon (International). I pray each church teaches about these offerings and encourages support for them each year.

Operation Christmas Child
This program was designed by and is enouraged by Samaritan’s Purse, an international program. which is led by Franklin Graham, the son of Rev. Billy Graham. They have many ministries, such as disaster releif, which Baptists have patterned some of their ministries from. The greatest feature about Operation Christmas Child is that Bibles are given to the children in their own language and a 13 week program is taught that trains the children in many of the Bible concepts they may never have heard of. Pray for the salvation of each child who receives a shoebox. Pray, too, for family members as they also are influenced by the shoeboxes and Bible given out.

I am only somewhat knowledgeable about the mission programs of other denominations and organizations so I didn’n’t list them here.

Yesterday, David and I spoke with a lady whose brother is very ill and whose name Bro. Darryl mentioned Wednesday night. Isn’t it wonderful how people can pray for the needs of others, even the names of those we do not personally know. We can pray simply because there is a need.

Please excuse the different sizes of fonts today. May you be aware of the blessings in your life today.
