Julia Fay Husser Grace

December 30, 1950 — October 25, 2026

Amite, LA

Julia Fay Husser Grace, 75, a lifelong resident of Amite, Louisiana, was born on December 30, 1950, and passed away on October 25, 2026, with her husband, Dewayne, by her side. Many in the Amite community will remember her as “Miss Julia” from the store she and Dewayne owned for years. She greeted everyone who walked through the door with a beautiful smile and a gentle nature that made them feel like family.

Julia was a child of God. She loved to sing hymns and praise Jesus, and her well-worn Bible stood as a testament to her faith. She was certain she would one day be reunited with her loved ones, and, most of all, welcomed into heaven by her Savior.

She married the love of her life on September 7, 1968. Her husband was the center of her world, and together they created a beautiful life. Her greatest accomplishment was her family. Her children, Kevin and Vanessa, were her pride and joy, and her grandchildren were her world. Her family could always count on one thing: a good meal prepared with love, and stirred with a well-worn spoon.

Julia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dewayne Grace; her son, Kevin (Heather); her daughter, Vanessa (Donnie); her grandchildren, Dillon, Dakota, Haylee, Dalton, Devin, and Dustin; and her great-grandchildren, Kyler, Langston, Dally, Scottie, Gracelynn, and Luke. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale Husser and Sammy Husser; and her sisters, Clare Crowe and Janet McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Husser, Jr. and Audrey Husser Costanza; and her brothers, Alton Husser, Delbert Husser, and Simon Husser,III.

Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9:00AM until Religious Services at 11:00AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Services conducted by Rev. Jeremy Ingram. Interment St. Dominic Cemetery, Husser, LA. For an online guestbook, visit http://www.mckneelys.com.Missions

Looking Ahead/Announcements

Tonight – Prayer Meeting at FBC. Kentwood and other churches I won’t try to name.

Baptist Press

Choose the articles you wish to read. I admit I missed reading here for a few days and will need to catch up today.

Missions

There are many missions in our churches. I focus on the three that are the mainstay of Southern Baptists and Operation Christmas Child provided by Samaritan’s Purse, but there are many other, more local missions in each church that meet needs and reach out to others in often unnoticed ways.

Many people do missions of various needs in often unnoticed ways. They are very effective in what they do for others.

All missions are important because they meet needs. When you have the opportunity to hear of some needs, step up and quietly take care of the needs. Many adult Sunday School classes do this on a regular basis, but you don’t ever hear much about their projects. Praying, caring and helping is the key.

Opportunity – Prayer Meeting

Tonight at FBC, Kentwood, there will be a nursery for babies and toddlers, classes for children in the children’s department, youth in the Light House, and a worship service/prayer meeting for adults in the sanctuary – A place for everyone! The service begins at 6:00 P.M.

I’m back on schedule, so “See” you in the morning.
