THE PRAYER LINK – SUNDAY

Isn’t it great to wake up on another Lord’s Day ?

Scriptures for Today

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
— Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

He said to them, … “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
— Matthew 17:20 (NRSVUE)

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
— Romans 10:17 (NASB)

William Bennett "Bill" Cory obituary

illiam “Bill” Bennett Cory

Bill, age 83, passed away peacefully in north Georgia on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. He dedicated 40 years of public school teaching in Tangipahoa Parish. After retiring from teaching, he drove for Council On Aging, and taught the GED program in the parish prison. Bill was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served from 1963-1967. Anyone who knew Bill knew he would give you the shirt off his back, and loved to tell his stories from teaching and his days in the army. Bill loved to hike in the mountains, kayak, fish, camp, and loved anything to do with the outdoors. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather who is already dearly missed by all those that love him.

William is survived by his brother Robert “Bob” Cory; and his 2 sons, Walter Cory and Robert Cory; grandsons Noah, Nicholas, Brayden, and Angel; and great-grandson, Taysom.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Freddie Gulotta Cory; brothers, Walter Cory, “Ronnie” Dick Cory, and sister, Ellen Cory Davis.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by the family.

Georgia Barnette Missions Offering

It is never too late to support this offering for missions in Louisiana.

Operation Christmas Child

Now is the time to help with “Shoeboxes” by contributing to pay for a Bible in the language of the child, lessons to introduce them to Jesus, traveling costs for the boxes as they travel to the children in undisclosed places around the world, etc. Ir only takes $10.00 per box, which is MUCH CHEAPER than sending in regular mail. You can designate your gift “OCC” at your church. How many boxes will you help with?

Sunday School

I’ve been encouraging you to read the Scriptures for today’s lesson. Today, I want to encourage you to attend Sunday School. The classes at FBC, Kentwood meet at 9:15 . If attending at another church, call a member to ask for the time there.
