A resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home. He was born October 2, 1921 in St. Landry, LA and was 100 years of age. He is survived by his 4 children, Renee Miller, Lisa Bateman and husband, Jim, Stephen Hudspeth and wife, Misty, and Francis Hudspeth; daughter-in-law, Jewel Ricks Hudspeth; 7 grandchildren, Aimee Wiggins and husband, Jay, Jessica Miller, Jace Johnson and wife, Summer, Cole Hudspeth, Sara Hudspeth, Ty Johnson, Preslie Johnson, Benjamin Hudspeth and wife, Johanna, Harlin Hudspeth, and Charlie Karen Hudspeth; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Surcouf, Brock Wiggins, Elizabeth Wiggins, Rowan Johnson, Braston, Raeven and Bennie Hudspeth, and Bailey LeJuene. Preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Schexnayder Hudspeth; son, Charles T. Hudspeth, Jr.; parents, Thomas Lawrence Hudspeth, Sr. and Martha Alma Adelaide Tatman Hudspeth; siblings, Thomas Lawrence Hudspeth, Jr., Fleeta Hudspeth Chautin, Eleanor Hudspeth Conrad, Daniel Hudspeth, Martha Hudspeth Ducote, and Rosa Clotile Hudspeth. Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church Hall from 8:30AM until 10:30AM with Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Helena Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Services conducted by Fr. Mark Beard. Lou Miller Reynolds is doing well following her hip surgery. As a nurse, she feels all is going well.

Mrs. Theople Hurst is amazing for her age. She has physical therapy twice a week and drives there and back home. Her knee is doing well.

The Fall Food Round-Up continues. You can contribute food or money. Food can be left at the church. Money can be given at the office or through the offering on Sunday if you designate it for the LA. Baptist Children’s Home. The truck will be here early on September 19, so be sure to have your contributions in by the 18th.
