- Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - ~Psalm 23:4~
- Hold this promise close to your heart to help carry you through the difficult days you experience.

August 27 – 2 Corinthians 7: 4-12
BAPTIST PRESS
Yesterday, David and I were in a restaurant in Amite when someone visited with us for a few minutes. It was Grady Cutrer, formerly of Kentwood. He was a real blessing to us. God gave us a special “God wink” to help make our day extra special.
We are collecting food for the Fall Food Round-Up for the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. An alternative is to write a check to FBC, Kentwood and specify it is for the LBCH. The secretary will see that it gets sent to them. That’s easy for you and allows the children’s home to purchase exactly what they need. The deadline for giving food is September 18 because the truck will be here early on the 19th.
Coming Soon – OCC Workday! We will meet one week from today to pack 150 additional “Shoeboxes”. The first Saturday October we will pack the last 150 boxes. Thanks to some ladies’ Sunday School classes for making purchases for us and to a couple ladies who provided money to help with purchasing items we need. Last week, we purchases erasers, crayons, jump ropes, and stuffed animals.
September is also our month to focus on Louisiana. We will give to support work in our state through the Georgia Barnette Offering.
Today’s Prayer Focus – Today, let’s pray for pastors of all our churches. They are busy doing many things we are not aware of. They pray for us, encourage us, guide us, teach us, preach to us, and many other things we are often unaware of.
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day. Use some time today to prepare for tomorrow so things will run smoothly. This may vary from family to family but can include things such studying your lesson for Sunday School, making sure shoes and clothing are selected and ready to be worn, and preparing food for Sunday. I have good memories of my daddy polishing shoes for each family member every Saturday. Momma helped us select our clothing, did some meal preparation, and baked a dessert for Sunday.
Thank-you for reading and praying today. I know Bro. Darryl and other pastors will appreciate our prayers.
