“Two are better off than one,

because together they can work more effectively.

If one of them falls down,

the other can help him up.

But if someone is alone and falls [into temptation],

it’s just too bad,

~Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (GNT)~

I apologize for posting late, but a fifth Sunday singing, a baseball game, and medication caused me to sleep late and led to a lazy morning for me. We enjoyed talking to Jennie this morning. That’s always a good way to start a day!

Update on Operation Christmas Child

Most churches are working hard to complete their purchases, projects, and accumulating funds for sending postage for their shoeboxes. At FBC, we are making plans to serve as the drop-off location again this year. I think the biggest and best thing we can do now is to pray for those who will receive the “shoeboxes”. Remember, it not the school supplies, hygiene items, clothing, or toys that’s most important. It’s the child who will receive each shoebox! Why? Because they get an opportunity to hear about, talk about, and sing about Jesus. For many recipients, this is their first opportunity to hear about Jesus and to know what a difference He can make in their lives.

Today’s Prayer Focus

Pray for the children who will receive a “shoebox”. Thank God for the person or group of people who packed them.

Reread the verse at the top. Be one of the people the Lord uses and partner someone with others to make a difference in the lives of others. There are many ways to be used. Ask God how He can use you to to impact others.

Thankfulness: Day One

Today, I’m thankful God takes my hand each day and guides me through life. Facing many things that are both big and new can be overwhelming if I do not allow Him to be my guide, counselor, encourager, and comforter along the way.
