Dad loved watching his kids and grandkids playing ball. He was always there for the small things, He loved his family, God, and LSU Football. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Thornton; 4 sons, Joseph Thornton (Christy), Lucas Thornton (Allison), Clayton Thornton (Jessica), and Joshua Thornton (Danyelle); 2 step-daughters, Jennifer Barnett Craft and Jacquelyn Barnett;sister, Virginia Sauls; 4 brothers, Henry McKenzie (Virginia), Harold Thornton (Susan), Jimmy Thornton (Katy), and James Thornton (Gerri); sister-in-law, Francis McKenzie; grandchildren, Alayna Thornton, Alexis Thornton, Tyler Phillips, Dylan Thornton, Ava Thornton, Alayna Lynne Thornton, Dakota Thornton, Annabelle Thornton, Adelyn Thornton, Joshua Thornton, Jr., Walter Thornton, Beckett Cronk, Arianna, Kayleigh, McKenna, and Dayton. Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Sarah Thornton; brother, Marion McKenzie. A resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. He was born August 19, 1947 in Independence, LA and was 73 years of age. He is the beloved husband of Debbie Robertson; much loved father to Robin Vilardo, Stephanie Cutrer (Mark), Rhonda Payne (Robbie), April Brown (Cy), Cassy Robertson, Sidney Forrest, and Lisa Forrest; cherished paw paw of Micah, Justin, Salvador, Tyler (Kristen), Brianne, Kayla, Chasity, Zandon, Dillion, and Abby; and 9 great grandchildren; he is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Bishop and Rose Mary Miller. He was preceded in death by parents, Byron and Bertha Robertson; son, Lil Jimmy Wayne Robertson, Jr.; son-in-law; Michael Vilardo; brother, Larry Robertson; nephew, Larry Ray, Jr.; brothers, Melvin “Leo” Raymond and Clyde Goolsby.
