Monday

“But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit has come on you;

and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem,

in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the earth.”

~Acts 1:8~

Baby John Varnado was not transported to New Orleans Sunday morning.  The family is not aware of when this will happen.  In the meantime, pray for him and his family.

Gerald McMillan is continuing to improve following his knee surgery.  This week, he hopes to begin navigating outside his home.  Pray for a good week.

Susan Frazier has improved so much she was able to attend Sunday School this morning.  Pray for continued improvement with no complications for her.

Pray for Susan Rimes as she sees her new doctor today.  Pray he will be able to help her have some relief from her kidney stones.

Wilson Booty had emergency exploratory surgery which turned out to be a colon problem.  His surgery and hospitalized was at North Oaks.  Pray he can recover without having to fight any infections.

Sharon Gaberial, sister of Chuck Gabriel of Amite and daughter of Mrs. Shirley Gabriel, passed away after a lengthy illness.  Pray for her family.  I’ll post an obituary when one is available.

According to Dawson Primes, he and his fellow troops will be returning to the States in about a month and to their homes before Christmas.   Be sure to thank service men and women when you see them.

As we celebrate Veterans’ Day, let’s pause to remember those who have served in defense of our country as well as those presently serving or in training for serving for our defense.  We know the men and women give up a lot to serve.  Let’s remember each service man or woman also has family left at home to deal with routine life without a key member of their family.  I’ve been able to enjoy seeing all the flags lined up as you enter Amite from the interstate.  They are a good reminder to remember our veterans.

Thankfulness Day 11 – Military

Today, on Veterans’ Day, I thank God for all who have served throughout the years since our nation was formed.  They did so to make life better for all of us.  Be sure to thank a vet today.  May God continue to watch over our country and her people.
