Bro. Darryl Miller was strong enough to preach both services yesterday. On top of that, Phillip Miller sang a powerful message! If you missed the service, I hope you will watch it on your phone or computer today.

Bro. Darryl came into the room while we were working on “Shoebox” items. He said that even though the church had electricity, the office didn’t.
The plan is for him to preach the Sunday messages today. Come worship with us. Thank God for Bro. Darryl’s progress.
Tornado in Town
We continue to thank God for watching our Kentwood Thursday. I still hear that no one was injured. There will be lots of chainsaw work to clean up the downed trees. Let’s pray every chainsaw operator is safe as are those in the area whether they are watching or helping.
Have a wonderful Lord’s day! Go to church today and thank God we are all safe.
Today, I’m thankful for all the people of Kentwood who are safe despite the bad weather we experienced yesterday. Join me in being thankful. What an opportunity to be available to help others right here in Kentwood!

Please a dd Keith Allen to your prayer list. He is in Hood Memorial for evaluation.

Kid’s OCC Day
Children K-8 are invited to meet in the fellowship hall of FBC at 9:00 this morning to help with preparing items for packing in “Shoeboxes” and distributed to children far from Kentwood. The children will receive many items that are useful, fun, and needed. If you haven’t worked in the OCC process, you would be surprised at how much goes into a “Shoebox”. In addition, children will have an opportunity to learn about Jesus and children have an opportunity to tell family members about Him. All because of a “Shoebox”!

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
Good morning, Friends. I’m so thankful to be able to be with you each morning.
Let’s start our Friday our right and spend the day “letting out light shine for Jesus”.
Operation Christmas Child Today
This morning, we will be working with children K-8 to prepare some items for placement in the “shoeboxes” at a later date. I hope you will be bringing any children in your family so they can participate in the joy of getting items prepared for children’s “shoeboxes” later this year. We will meet in the fellowship hall at 9:00 Saturday morning.
Health Concern
Please pray for Donnie Travis. He and Delore were still at North Oaks yesterday. Each day they wake up with hope of going home, but learn later in the day that they have “one more day”. Your prayers will be appreciated.
Please pray for Angela Shockley as she has more time to heal and to be monitored before she can come home. Pray for her family as they “step in” and help take care of each other. I know they will be happy to all be home one day next week.

Annie Armstrong (1850-1938)
Annie was born in Baltimore at a time when there was little opportunity for women. Yet, her devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She organized women to pray, to give and to meet the needs around them. She challenged pastors and churches to action and rallied vital support for missionaries. Ultimately, Annie was recognized as a national Southern Baptist trailblazer for her visionary leadership that still inspires millions today.
What a glorious thing it is to be a co-worker with God in winning the world for Christ.– Annie Armstrong
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.

“God Winks”
“God Winks” are instances when God does something for us that we could not have done for ourselves. He protects us or does something that is very good for us. People often shrug these events off as luck. I like to recognize them as reminders that God loves me and is watching over me.
Instead of being amazed with the good luck you have, look to God and thank Him.. He is letting you know He is there and working in our lives when we are not expecting Him ro show up.
Examples of “God Winks” that could happen in your life.
You receive a check you didn’t expect just when you need some extra money for an emergency.
You get a flat tire on a rainy day and two young men you know stop to help you.
You are the only one in your family who remains healthy despite everyone else coming down with food poisoning. You ate the some foods as the others, but just didn’t get sick. You are able to purchase medicine and care for the others.
You get lost while driving.. Just as you pull into a service station in a less than desirable area a police car pulls in next to you. The police woman tells you to follow her to the correct highway.
Look for the “God Winks” in your life. Thank God for them. Know He is watching over you and is helping you despite the circumstances we get ourselves into. He has let me know He was watching over me in the last few days.

Annie Armstrong Offering
The established Week of Pray for North American missions was a week ago, but I still would like to share some information about it.
Saturday morning at 9:00, we will have our first Kid’s Day for OCC. Children from kindergarten through eighth grade will get to learn more about missions and to experience some of the steps in preparing items for packing the shoe boxes. Please bring your children and grandchildren. We would love for you to join us and help your children if they need your help. We will also have an area set up for you to watch your children and grandchildren as well as visit the other parents and grandparents. I’m looking forward to teaching about missions and teaching the children to love OCC by doing OCC.
Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
Don’t forget the special kid’s day Saturday from 9:00 to Noon. We will be giving the children, K-8, an opportunity to help with shoeboxes. We will work in the sanctuary. Bring your kids and grandkids. Stay and work with them if you can.

Don Turner will be preaching tonight.
Please pray for Bro. Darryl as he continues to heal from surgery. We are hopeful he will be able to be “back in the pulpit” next week.

Why am I late?
My new keyboard decided not to work this morning. The easy answer was to change the batteries and the more difficult option was to call a repairman. We were blessed that the new batteries put me back into operation. The hitch was we needed to buy the batteries. We did that in Ponchatoula when we went to a baby shower for my niece, Kristin.
