Thank you for participating in the guided prayer I posted yesterday. Sometimes, you need to add the names and situations I am not aware of or cannot post on The Prayer Link.

Pray for Wayne McNabb as he has foot surgery tomorrow. Pray his diabetes does not complicate the procedure or lengthen the healing time.

Pray for Kathy Jo Thompson, of Folsom, who is having problems that seem to indicate a brain tumor. She will bee going to a hospital for testing. She asks for prayer as she undergoes test and for her parents.

Rufus Williams will not have his heart procedure tomorrow, on the 28th. Please pray for him and his family as they wait.

I have a request for school uniforms. Re-Store, in Amite, has a number of requests for school uniforms. If you have any, please take them to the store which is next to Cooper’s Bakers in Amite or bring them to me at home or at church. I will be glad to deliver them for you. Please note that Re-Store is closed Monday, Thursday, and at lunch. They are open Tues., Wed., & Fri. from 9::30-11:30 or from 12:30-2:00.

Tuesday Addition

Two new topics for prayer. (Suggested by Mary Alice Fox)

Pray for our local, state, and national leaders that they may make wise Godly decisions.
Also pray for our pastors as they lead us in worship. May they always lead us in a way that is directed by God’s word telling us what God would have us hear rather than what we want to hear.

Monday Afternoon

Roseanne Estes Needham

My daughter Roseanne is due with her second child (a girl) she is not due until September 22nd, but she has started to dialate and has been having contractions since last Thursday, they are giving her meds to stop the contractions but it doesn’t seem to be helping very much. Please pray for her and the baby…as much as we are excited and ready to see that sweet new baby…we don’t want her to come if it is not time. I do believe that God has control of this and she will arrive when he is ready!

All of this is has been very stressful on her and J.B.
Just keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

A lifelong resident of Amite, died at 2:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. She was born September 23, 1931 in Chesbrough and was 81 years of age. Survived by her son, Richard Hayden and wife, Sherri, Baton Rouge; granddaughters, Jennifer Erin Smith and husband, Field, Jefferson and Meghan Elizabeth Hayden, Burleson, TX; great grandsons, Hayden Carter Smith and Linus Brasfield Smith; brother, George Hyde, Amite and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by husband, Ellis P. Hayden; parents, Willie and Lillian Hyde and sister, Ruth Spring. Please remember my classmate and friend since childhood Aurelia Ann Varnado (Weegee), Cancer has taken over most of her body including sternum and lumbar area. She is in good spirits and will begin chemo next Tuesday. I know Jesus will hold her hand through this but prayers are needed badly. Fran Walker

We’ve been praying for Eli. Today, Prayers for Eli on facebook, indicate he has completed his chemo. Continue to pray for this young man.

Line Creek Baptist Church

Tomorrow morning (TODAY), during our worship service, we are going to have “the blessing of the backpacks.” Actually, we are going to have a time of prayer for each kid that is starting school (or already has started school), while wearing/carrying his or her backpack/bookbag. We are also going to have a special time of prayer for all of our teachers. Don’t forget to bring your backpack/bookbag, if you’ve got one. See in the morning!

Greensburg Baptist Church (From JoEllen Carruth)

I would like to invite everyone to the First Baptist Church in Greensburg this Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. for Sunday School and then 10:30 a.m for our 147th celebration worship service. Over 147 years ago the church was begun on the present site and has been a part of the Greensburg community. We will have one of our former pastors, Dr. Arthur “Bo” Rice as our speaker and one of our former music directors, Chuck Brown will lead our music. We will have “dinner on the grounds” following the morning worship. Please come and be a part of this celebration in our community. Everyone is welcome.

Pray for us later this morning as we make a delivery of items to Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. The items will be delivered to the Hatchels at the end of this week. Especially pray for the ministry of the nine people who will work among the Gypsies. May their efforts be multiplied by our God who wants the Gypsies to know Him.

Please continue to pray for Sylvia W. Day as she continues to recover. She feels so blessed to have only a minimum of pain, yet an abundance of help.

Continue to pray for Betty Taylor’s mom, Mrs. Ruby Zigler, as she try to regain some strength.

I received word that Dr. Earl Council is hospitalized in Greenville, S.C. His son, Chris‘, condition is uncertain. “Miss” Nadine is trying to deal with the health conditions of both and is very thankful to be near family. Please pray for the Council family.

We heard a good report on Fuzzy Liuzza following his surgery. Pray he continues to do well.
