We are FINALLY on the road, headed home (well, sort of, we are headed straight to Ponchatoula for Cate’s gymnastics.)

We’ll go back to the grind tomorrow.

David

David learned today that his heart is still in rhythm.  We thank God for that good report.

My day has been unusual, but I know God is still in charge and is watching over us (and you too)!

Monday

I’m still recovering from getting too hot last night.  I’ll post early this afternoon if I can.  Pray for me that I can recover from the way I feel now.

Three requests, Tommie Kuss, brother of Mr. Charlie, is in New Orleans  Ochsner Hospital with several issues.  He’s very sick.

One of the Vining sisters, Edwina, is not doing well.  You may remember she had a procedure last  week that seemed to have good results at the time.  She’s in her mid to  late 80’s, if I remember correctly.

Also, Walter Dykes is scheduled to have some bypasses Wednesday.  Please begin praying for him.

Sunday

Jesus turned and saw her.

“Take heart, daughter,” he said,

“your faith has healed you.”

And the woman was healed from that moment.

~Matthew 9:22~

Devotional, Scripture, and a Song

  • God’s Good Heart  http://odb.org/
  • Count it all joy when you fall into various trials.                                                                                                                                                    ~James 1:2~
  • “God on the Mountain” – Lynda Randle was featured all hour long on the Bill Gathier program last night.  I hope some of you got to know her better and heard her testimony of how this song reflects her life.  I had no idea then that her song would fit so perfectly with the devotional that Our Daily Bread would post today.  That’s another one of those “God Winks”!

“Serve the Lord with Gladness” this Lord’s Day!

“If you want to know what God wants you to do,

ask him,

and he will gladly tell you,

for he is always ready to give

a bountiful supply  of wisdom

to all who ask him.”

Macy Gueldner

Macy’s counts have jumped up a good bit. As a matter of fact, I don’t ever remember them being this high. As a result of this and her bigger weight and height, they’re increasing her chemo once again. I hope this doesn’t bottom out her counts when she’s supposed to start school soon. That would be our luck.

We’re in Memphis waiting on anesthesia, then recovery, a shot of chemo, then home.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Things took a turn really quickly this afternoon. Just before we left for Louisiana, while waiting for Macy’s last push of chemo, she became very sick. She was shaking uncontrollably, screaming in severe pain, crying lots of tears, getting splotchy, and turning blue. It was very scary, to say the least. They got her to her clinic quickly, gave her morphine, and started a couple different antibiotics. She finally settled down, but while waiting to be admitted her blood pressure dropped dangerously low. So, we stayed put for a bolus of fluids until that got better. We had just gotten settled in on the second floor when her fever spiked to almost 103. She was red as a beet. The fever slowly went down, but now her blood pressure has dropped again. She’s on her second bolus.
Her pulse is high, and her oxygen saturation is low. They are probably about to put her on oxygen. We are inching closer to the ICU, but are praying she gets stable enough to stay on the second floor.
We don’t know what’s causing all of this, but they are thinking it may be an infection. We’re waiting on blood cultures to hopefully give us some answers.
By the way, we had to wait 2 hours to get called back to the medicine room this afternoon. If it hadn’t been for that wait, we would have been on the road in the middle of nowhere, MS when this would’ve happened.
This has been VERY scary for us SEVERAL times today. There were plenty of times where I was just praying shed keep breathing. That’s never what a mother is supposed to be thinking while holding her baby. Please keep us in your prayers tonight.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Macy has been stable for a couple of hours now. Thank you all so much for the many prayers!

Mr. Milton Johnson – Pray for this resident of the St. Helena Nursing Home in Greensburg.

Pray for the teachers, students, bus drivers, and other school staff who will be returning to school soon.  Yes, it’s that time of year again.

Thursday – Mid-day

David had two procedures at the heart hospital in Lacombe  and the doctor reported the results to me before 7:45 this morning.  The results?  There were no blood clots and the heart is now back in rhythm.  Thanks to all who have prayed for him and to the doctors and wonderful staff at Lacombe.  Now, at 11:30, I have driven us home with a stop in Amite to eat something light, gumbo from Mike’s.  We are blessed in so many ways.

Thursday/Posted Early

I received a message that the Hatchels arrived safely to their home.  The three bags that didn’t arrive with them are scheduled to get to them in the morning.  Thank you to all of you who have prayed to them and us as the Hatchels make another transition in their life.

Virgie Morgan’s other sister also got a good report.  Surgery will not be required.

I’ll add to this post some time Thursday.
