Saturday

Sell your possessions and give to the poor.

Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out,

a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted,

where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

For where your treasure is,

there your heart will be also.

~Luke 12:33-34~

Friday

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart;

do not depend on your own understanding.

and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.

Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.”

~Proverbs 3:5-7 NLT, 2nd Ed.~

I can think of many people, including myself, who should be praying this Scripture today.

Bring Your Bible to School Day!

  • I saw an advertisement on television yesterday and looked it up.
  • Tomorrow is the day, but I’m not involved in the schools any more and don’t know what the  current rules are.  I’m sure it will be fine in some schools, but am not sure about all of them.
  • Tomorrow is the day!  Check it out today if you or family members are involved.

While visiting some friends yesterday, I was impressed with these and similar statements:

  • God still has a purpose for me.
  • He must not be finished with me yet.
  • I don’t understand, but I don’t ask Him why.
  • I hope I am pleasing Him.
  • I’m ready to meet my Maker.

That will get you to thinking about your own life!

Thinking?

Tuesday

Pray for Freida Jones.  She has a heart problem and a new issue, cancer.  Decisions will soon need to be made about surgery.  She could use our prayer support.

Flo Hatcher had a tough day yesterday.  As you pray for her, also pray for those who help care for her.

Lisa Pitre will be having surgery today.  She would certainly appreciate your prayers.

Monday's Second Addition

Margaret Daniel Wilson

Awesome news!!! The doctors at MD Anderson said that the nodules on my mom’s lung are benign and nothing to worry about. The mass on her kidney is only 1.7 cm and anything under 3 cm has almost a 0% chance of spreading! They don’t know if it’s cancer or not, but they looked back at last years MRI and they can see the same size mass on it. Not sure why someone didn’t catch it last year, but the doctor said it hadn’t grown in a year, so he recommends waiting 6 months and getting another scan!!! Wow! God is so good!! Thank you all for the prayers!                 ~Robin~

Please pray for Jeana Lee- Newton.  She was admitted to the hospital again this morning.  Doctors are considering her issues to see which in most demanding at this time.

Flo Hatcher has developed a problem with a leg that looks like it may need immediate attention.  She will possibly begin chemo in the morning!  Visitors are encouraged at this point.

Greenlaw Baptist Church is having revival.  Some of you may want to attend.  Each night begins with supper at 5:00.  The supper is provided by the church.

The Lord’s Church will host the annual associational meeting next Sunday evening.  Members of all area churches are invited to attend.  The service begins at 6 P.M.  If you wish to sing in the associational choir, you will need to be there earlier.

I just received a message from a lady who told me she made purchases for Operation Christmas Child and where she left them for me to find.  I certainly appreciate each person who helps.  What a blessing we receive when we give to such worthy causes!

Yesterday, as we prepared to leave church, a father and daughter stopped me to ask about what the daughter could purchase for Operation Christmas Child.  I gave them my thoughts.  Last night, the daughter called to tell me what she purchased and said she would be able to get more things.  She also told me she would be a part of packing the shoeboxes.  That’s the way you feel about OCC.  You cannot do enough to help pack the shoeboxes.  I’m thankful for that father who came with his daughter to talk with me and who encouraged her to be on the giving side of this project.  She is so blessed to have family members to encourage her young heart in the right direction.

Let’s allow the change in the weather be an encouragement to change something we do. There might be a bad habit that needs to disappear or a new one we need to develop.  This is a great time of the year!  We can make it even better by making some positive changes in our lives.

Sunday

“Take on an entirely new way of life —

a God-fashioned life,

a life renewed from the inside

and working itself into your conduct

as God accurately reproduces his character in you.”

Mrs. Velma Anthony has been sick for a couple weeks.  She is still undergoing tests to identify the problem.

Mrs. Glenda McKean fell early last week.  Her diagnosis is two broken ankles which will keep her in Hood Memorial for a while.  She will get to walk again in about eight weeks.

Jimmy Schwartz is home almost all the time now.  That doesn’t mean we don’t think about him or that he doesn’t need to hear from us.
