Youth and Church Camp
Pray for the youth and chaperones of First Baptist Church, Kentwood as they spend the week at church camp. May this be a week of growing in the Lord for all of them. I’m so thankful they have this wonderful opportunity each year. Those of us who aren’t going can certainly pray for them and all the others at church camps this week.
VBS
It is likely one of the churches in our area is having VBS. This week, pray for them, whoever it may be or whoever is next. Encourage the children of that community to attend. Encourage the children who have attended this summer to continue to sing, discuss, and study the Bible. Most importantly, pray they attend church where they can continue to grow in the Lord.

Gail Brister is thankful to be at home after a week in the hospital.
Both Chuck and Dorothy Wall are improving and were able to be at church Wednesday night.

Teri Jean Bridges Hanks, born February 28th, 1954 in Kentwood, LA, and a longtime resident of Greensburg, LA, peacefully departed this life at her home on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Teri was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting nana. She attended Valley Forge High School, graduating in 1972. After high school, she enrolled in beauty college and obtained her cosmetology license. She opened her own business, Teri’s Hilltop Beauty Shop, where she cut hair for the next 51 years. Her clients became her extended family. She enjoyed countless hours styling their hair and listening to their life stories while offering sound advice, Scriptures, and heartfelt prayers. Her faith was a defining point of her character. In 1979 she married the love of her life, Phillip Daryl Hanks, and was blessed with 41 years of marriage before Daryl’s passing in 2020. She was known as Nana to her three grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She enjoyed attending all of their events and activities, oftentimes serving as chauffeur, stylist, and official cookie baker. Memories of her will remain in their hearts forever. Although her family was her main focus, she also enjoyed her time spent raising chickens and tending her garden. She is survived by her daughter, Haley Conleay and son-in-law, Josh; three grandchildren, Wyatt, Jocelyn, and Jarrett Conleay; brothers, Marshall Bridges, Reggie Bridges, Brad Bridges (Janet), and David Bridges; sisters, Connie Varden (Lanny) and Mona Stewart (Paul); numerous nieces and nephews. Teri was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Mildred Bridges; husband, Daryl Hanks; brother, J.D. Bridges; sister, Marilyn Barrios. Robert Earl Brabham I
June 6, 1956 – June 14, 2025
Robert Earl Brabham I, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 6, 1956 in Independence, Louisiana. He was 69 years old. Robert married the love of this life, Janice, on August 20, 1977. Over the last 47 years, Robert and Janice were blessed with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and created a life they loved and cherished in Greensburg, Louisiana. He spent many days growing vegetables in his garden and sitting on the porch with his fur baby and companion, Minnie Pearl. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed. Robert was greeted in heaven by his father and mother, Amos and Louise Brabham, sisters: Loretta “Jo” Wall, Rebecca Millet, Debra Grice, Faye Brabham, Marie Lederer, Angie Hebert, and Brothers: Eugene Brabham and Leon Brabham. He is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Beddingfield Brabham, his beloved fur baby and companion, Miss Minnie Pearl Brabham. Children: Charlotte Ficklin (husband: Lynne), Robert “Bobby” Brabham II and Sandra “Sandy” Culbertson (husband: Robbie). Grandchildren: Triniti Ficklin, Preston Ficklin, Justin Ficklin, Landan Brabham, Joshua Brabham, Hayleigh Bowlin, Robert Brent Culbertson and Cameron Culbertson. Great grandchildren: Roman Bo Palmer, Peyton Bowlin, Weston Bowlin, Strider Brabham and Aubrey Ficklin. Sisters: Shirley Shill, Nancy Wascom, Janice Carter, Louise Davis, and Brothers: Randy Brabham and Mike Brabham. Lastly, he had two nieces that loved like his daughters: Kaylee “Bae Bae” Woodard and Jessica “Moosey” Coates. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite Louisiana on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 6-9PM and will continue on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9am until funeral services at 11am at McKneely Funeral Home. Services will be officiated by Mr. Caleb Cleveland. Interment will be at Greensburg Cemetery. Margaret “Lavone” Campbell Welch, born January 5, 1941, in Pine Prairie, LA, and a long-time resident of Kentwood, LA, has passed away peacefully at her home on June 16, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church and was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger and enjoyed doing for others. She was a wonderful servant of God. Lavone is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Farjustia Campbell, brother, Ober Campbell and sisters, Faye Pike and Bobbie Johnson, and her great granddaughter Lily Rae Hose. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Charles Welch, daughters Kim (Mike) McNabb and Stephanie (Stewart) Pedigo, grandchildren Dennis Pedigo, Leslie Pedigo, Christopher (Brita) McNabb and Landon McNabb, and great grandchildren Evy Hose, Audrey Hose, Haidyn McNabb, Amilya McNabb, Maddox McNabb, Parker McNabb, Paige McNabb and Paxton McNabb. Gail Brister has been at North Oaks. I understand she went home overnight, but there are additional tests scheduled for today. Please pray for her and for her family during this buxy time..

There were people in church yesterday who have been unable to attend for several weeks. I thank God for His hand in their improved health issues.
