But I, with shouts of grateful praise,

will sacrifice to you.

What I have vowed I will make good.

I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’ ”

OCC Drop-Off ends this morning.  If you have any “shoeboxes” to send this week, please turn them in at 9:00 or shortly after that.  Boxes will be closed up and sent off to their next stop.  Boxes at FBC, Kentwood will be picked up at 10:00 this morning.  Thank-you to all the individuals, groups, and churches who packed a box.

The Community Thanksgiving Service at the Kentwood United Methodist Church last night was wonderful.  Thanks to all who attended and all who participated.  The full house was great to see.

Children in Action WILL meet Wednesday night from 6:00 – 7:00.

Thankfulness, Day 21 – Today, I am thankful for my computer and for my computer expert, Jason.  Without them, I wouldn’t be typing ThePrayerLink.com this morning.

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

For in him you have been enriched in every way—

with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge—

Thanks to all those who turned in stamps for Christmas cards.  I put stamps on about 200 envelopes last night.  Today, I will be purchasing more stamps for more cards.  I know the cards will make a difference in some lives by giving prisoners the opportunity to communicate with family members during this special time of year.

Sunday

Give thanks in all circumstances;

for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

A new baby was born Friday, making our friends Matt and Shea first time grandparents.  I’m sure many of you will remember when Drew was born when they were living in Kentwood.  It seems like yesterday.  Now the next generation has started.

Matt and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our first grandchild, Caleb Judson Williams, who was born Friday evening to Drew and Morgan. We were able to skype with him a little while ago. He was rather bored and slept through the entire time, but we understand. 🙂 His parents kept us entertained instead. Dec. 5th can’t come soon enough for these two grandparents. His aunts (Lindsey and Melody) are pretty excited, too. Let the spoiling begin!

Thankfulness, Day 20 – I’m thankful for the first six days of collecting Operation Christmas Child “shoeboxes”.  It was pure joy receiving each box.  It was also a joy to get to spend sweet time with others as we waited.  I’m looking forward to collecting a few more today and them sending the boxes to their next destination in the morning.  I’m thankful for the first Drop-off week at FBC, Kentwood.  I am so anxious for the boxes to be in the hand of the boys and girls.

Thankfulness: Day 19 – I’m thankful FBC, Kentwood was chosen to be a collection site for Operation Christmas Child.  It has been a rewarding week.  Now, bring your boxes in.  You only have two more days.  If you haven’t packed any boxes yet, come by and pick up a box to two and pack them today.  You will have a rewarding feeling in your heart as you select the items that will go in your box.  Help introduce some children to Jesus!

Buddy Waller‘s appointment was changed to Tuesday so the doctor could gather more information.  That gives us more time to pray for him.

Thankfulness, Day 18 – Today, I’m thankful for the cabin.  It allows us to share our home with so many others.  God blesses us with those that enter our cabin.  We had another great night last night.  The Third Thursday gathering at the cabin is the highlight of my month every month.

Please pray for Buddy Waller today as he sees a surgery to set up surgery.  I think he will be appreciative of our prayers.

A number of people are undergoing medical testing.  Pray for this group of people.

David got a better report from the retina specialist Friday.  He is seeing better.  The retinas are remaining attached.  Swelling is going down in the left eye. The doctor cleared him for driving.  David is enjoying that freedom again.  The doctor also gave him permission to travel to higher elevation, so we will be able to travel to GA for our 14 year old grandson, Braden’s, eagle scout ceremony.  We are thanking God for healing and you for praying.

Wonderful reports!

  • Sherman Cutrer‘s heart corrected itself.  He is back home.
  • Sandy B. Morgan‘s platelets are improving enough she is out of bleeding danger and has been allowed to go home.
  • Thank you, Lord!

The Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Station collected boxes from seven groups/individuals yesterday.  We had plenty of help during the day.  The slow time between visits gave us the opportunity to visit.  I must say Day One was a success because of all the shoeboxes that are on the way to a boy or girl somewhere who may never have received a gift before or heard of Jesus.  I’m looking forward to Day Two!

Thankfulness Day 15:  I must say how thankful I am for Samaritan’s Purse and its Operation Christmas Child.  David and I have seen the gifts and delivery people as they traveled overseas, the gifts actually being delivered, and the workers as they traveled home.  I can only imagine how lives of boys and girls have been changed.  I’m sure many heard about Jesus and His love for the first time.

The Friday Morning Bible Study will complete John 11 this week.  Handouts will be available for the next chapter.  See you at 10:00.

Monday

Do not forget the covenant I have made with you,

and do not worship other gods.

Rather, worship the LORD your God;

it is he who will deliver you

from the hand of all your enemies.”

Thankfulness, Day14:  Today, I’m thankful FBC, Kentwood was asked to be a new drop-off location for the collection of shoeboxes.  We will be accepting shoeboxes for the next week beginning at 9:00 each day.  May God richly bless each child who receives a shoebox and each person involved in preparing and sending them around the world.

Please pray for Jeanna Lee-Newton and her family.  Her parents, Ricky and Brenda Russell of Chesbrough, went to check on her after church yesterday and were heartbroken when they saw her.  Many prayer are needed for this family.

Sandy Bennett Morgan, a former student, is hospitalized in Baton Rouge with a rare blood disorder.  Pray for Sandy, Paul, and Zach as well as other family members and the medical staff caring for her.  You may remember Zach’s Lids for Kids, collection of hats for sick children and delivery to numerous hospitals.  Sandy got Zach started on this and other ministries to help children with medical needs.

Please pray for Sherman Cutrer.  His is hospitalized in Baton Rouge with heart issues.  I’m sure your prayers will be appreciated.

Please continue to pray for Kenneth Birch and his back issues.  He has a procedure scheduled for December 7th.

Sunday

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness

and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,

in whom we have redemption,

the forgiveness of sins.

Our Madison is being baptized this morning in Prague.  We didn’t know until yesterday.  This is the first grandchild for us to miss this special event.  I’m up early, so at least I can pray at the approximate time.
