Shelbi Travis is home with home health care for three weeks.  She is much better since the blood transfusion.  Thank-you for praying for her.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon has been moved to room 4403 at North Oaks.  It is best to enter the hospital at the north entrance.  Please continue to pray for her.

A resident of Kentwood passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at his home. He was born October 1, 1928 in Amite and was 88 years of age. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Pauline Baham (Ferdie), Wilmer, and Roxie Baham (Jessie), Kentwood; 4 sons, Jimmy Graham (Sherry), David Graham (Marsha), Billy Graham, and Jerry Graham, all of Wilmer; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and his brothers, RC Graham (Louella), Wilmer, Jessie Graham, Orange, TX, Marshall Graham, Kentwood, Tommy Graham, Franklinton, and Nick Graham, Orange, TX. Preceded in death by his wife, Faye Elizabeth Winborn Graham; parents, William Nick and Mamie Gill Graham; grandson, Stacy Graham; brothers, AC, Dale and Doug Graham; sister, Judy Graham Young, and brothers in law, James, Troy and Sammy Winborn.  Visitation at Wilmer Baptist Church from 10 AM until religious services at 12 Noon on Monday, October 2, 2017. Norman “Lee” Leroy Merritt

August 11, 1958 – October 01, 2017

Norman Leroy “Lee” Merritt passed away on October 1, 2017 at the age of 59. Survived by his loving companion, Carolyn Stewart; son, Scott Merritt (Amanda); daughter, Linda Ballard (Matthew); stepson, Charles Stewart (Heather); mother, Janie Holden Hughes; and grandchildren, Thomas, Brandon, Scotlynn, Alli, Aribella, Matthew, Jr., Mason, Marissa, Michael, Colby, Bree-Anna and Jazmyne. He is also survived by Bonnie Merritt; brother, Robert Merritt (Karen); sister, Jan Howell (PeeWee); and nieces and nephews, Shelly, Rachel, Bubba and Hannah. Audrey Husser Constanza

May 09, 1930 – October 02, 2017

A resident of Husser, she passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. She was born May 9, 1930 in New Orleans and was 87 years of age. She is survived by her children, Julia H. Grace and husband, Dewayne, Clara M. Crowe, Alton L. Husser, Dale L. Husser, Sr. and wife, Sherrijean, Janet M. McDonald, and Sammy Husser and wife, Donna; brother, Alfred Pete Monier; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by first husband, Simon J. Husser, Jr.; 2 sons, Delbert N. Husser and Infant Simon J. Husser, III; second husband, Paul Costanza; son-in-law, Terry Crowe; and 8 brothers and sisters. Remaining Faithful

School has been underway for at least a month, just long enough for students to get settled in to new routines, teachers, and classmates. Many missionary kids (MKs) are homeschooled, some attend local national schools, and others go to boarding school. College-aged MKs are usually thousands of miles and oceans away from their families. Please pray for MKs as they face unique challenges like extraordinarily slow internet, homesickness, or adjustments living in a different culture than the one where they grew up. Pray that they will remain faithful to God as they grow in knowledge of Him.

(This came to my computer this morning.  Since I have four MKs, one a college freshmen and three in an international school at home (Europe), I felt it might encourage others to pray for children who live in cultures and environments different to what children around here do.

Monday Update and Additions

Donna Fay Miller‘s heart ablation this morning went well.  She will stay in the hospital or or two nights before coming home.  Keep praying.

Doug Prescott, Cheryl’s husband, will be seeing a dermatologist tomorrow.  She request prayer for a good diagnosis.  Start praying.

Mrs. Anne Hurst got a good report on her diabetes situation today.  She thanks you for your prayers.

Josiah was supposed to have his heart cath today but the plan changed. He will be having it tomorrow though. As of right now, it will be earlier in the morning (around 7:30ish but could change if an emergant case is added to the schedule). This will be mostly diagnostic. If they see a pulmonary vein that is constricted enough to need intervention, they will either balloon it to stretch it or put a stint in. Praying for an informative and safe heart cath. We will keep everyone posted…as much as possible. It will be a bit of a crazy day tomorrow so please be patient with us on updates. To God be the glory!!!

Pray for Rene Deck Terrell as she has a heart procedure this morning.  She will be thankful for your prayers.

The Senior Adult revival will continue this morning at New Zion Baptist Church.  Rev. Ernest Graham will be the speaker.  I am always amazed and blessed to see more than a dozen pastors stand together and know why they are serving Him.  Coffee and donuts will be available at 9:30.  Choir practice will begin at that time also.  The meeting officially begins at 10:00 and concludes with lunch.

 

The Operation Christmas Child Packing Party will be one month from tomorrow night, on November 4th.  We are beginning to purchase the items we need to complete the “shoeboxes”.  If you have an opportunity to shop in the next day or two, we still need some soap and washcloths.

The cost of transporting “shoeboxes” is $9.00 per box this year.  After sending packages internationally via to Brazil and Europe for more than twenty years, I can tell you this is a great price!  What cost would you be willing to pay to save a child and possible a whole family?  No matter where you are helping with “shoeboxes”, a school, a church, or a business, I’m sure you will be richly blessed by knowing the opportunities your box(es)  will give to children who might not get to learn about Jesus if it were not for you!

 

 

Continue to pray for all the people whose lives were forever changed in Las Vegas Sunday night.  Also, pray for those at church Sunday, in any hospital, on any military battle site, extended care facility, wearing a police uniform, climbing an electrical pole to provide services, driving down the highway, giving birth to a new baby, those being admitted to any ER, driving a bus load of children, etc.  Life can change quickly.  It is vital to know and have God as Savior of of souls.  

(God our Savior) desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Shelbie Travis is scheduled to return home today and a long stay at two different hospitals.  She will have home health checking on her twice a day.  Thank you for all your prayers for her.

Donna Fay Miller will have a heart ablation early this morning at OLOL.  Pray for Donna Fay to know God’s peace as she goes for this procedure.

Maddie’s Miracle points our the current needs for Mattie, the granddaughter of a high school classmate and friend.  The family certainly appreciates your prayers.

Barbara Battles is hospitalized with an infection.  Let’s pray they get this cleared up quickly.

 

Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with the youth from FBC, Kentwood about Operation Christmas Child.  Then, they folded 200 shoeboxes in about 20 minutes.  I must tell you they were wonderful listeners and hard workers.  They even moved the boxes to the room we will use for our packing party on November 4th.  Those who work with them regularly and their parents can be very proud of the fine young people they are.

 

The Senior Adult Revival begins this morning with coffee and choir practice at 9:30 with the meeting at 10:00 followed by lunch.  Bro. Randy from Mt. Nebo will be the speaker.  This is always a wonderful opportunity.

 

Thursday is “Take Your Bible to School Day”.  I think the name explains itself well.

I forgot to mention that Mrs. Anne Hurst is home after a “routine” stay at Greensburg.  I’m thankful the problem can be recognized and treated as a regular routine.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon is continuing with more tests today.  She seemed better yesterday than Friday.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Please continue to pray for Shelbie Travis.  She continues to be in pain.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon is in room 4101 at North Oaks.  That’s on the fourth floor at the main entrance to the hospital.  She would be pleased to know you are praying for her.

Mrs. Peggy Haynes, who had only a 20% chance of survival, has beat the odds one more time.  “Miss” Peggy is Brady Haynes mother.  Brady served as youth minister here about fifteen years ago.  Prayers have made the difference in “Miss” Peggy’s life.

Please continue to pray for Donna Fay Miller as she prepares for a heart ablation early Monday morning at OLOL.

 

 

Don’t forget to purchase some hair “fixin’s” for the girl’s “shoeboxes”.  Anything a girl from 4-14 would wear in their hair is the collection item for the week.

There will be several new opportunities for children and adults beginning tomorrow night at 5 P.M. at FBC, Kentwood.

The next Two Rivers Associational WMU meeting will be on the 16th at Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Monday, the Two Rivers Senior Adult Revival will begin at Spring Creek Baptist Church at 10 A.M.

Shelbie Travis, daughter of Melissa Bryan, is still not improving.  Please say prayers for Shelbie, her new baby, Austyn, and other family members who have faithfully cared for them for the last two weeks.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon is being admitted to North Oaks.  She does not have a room number yet.  Please include her in your prayers too.

Please continue to pray for Shelbie Travis.  Her doctor is working hard to determine why she is still not improving as he expected.  Pray for her family as they continue to help take care of her and baby Austyn.

Update on Josiah Huckaby:

Update: Josiah had a bit of a rough day yesterday & this morning. He has 2 issues that are causing him some stress. First, he has been retaining some fluid which effects his breathing but they have given him some Lasix to help with that. Second, they think his g-tube site is infected…so he is fighting that. They started antibiotics this morning & he seemed to be doing better this afternoon. We are also waiting to find out what cardiology’s plan is. They will be doing a heart cath just to make sure he doesn’t have any heart issues that they haven’t found during his echos. Once we have a date/plan, we will be sure to update everyone. Also, Josiah now has a primary day nurse…and we must say she is pretty awesome! We will be working towards finding a night primary for him too. He will definitely benefit from having primary nurses because they will hopefully be able to pick up on small changes & catch any issues that could cause him to go into another crisis. All we can do is continue to praise God for all He has done & continues to do for us!!! Thanks to everyone who has prayed for us, helped pay for meals at the hospital/gas/groceries, and called/text. We are so blessed to have such a great support system!!!

Operation Christmas Child – Meg Pittman is getting ready to order some OCC shoeboxes to pack at Spring Creek Baptist Church.  If another church or group still needs boxes or needs additional boxes, please contact her.  She will add your order to her order.  It will save money on shipping costs if churches go together to order boxes.

Wednesday Addition

“Miss” Mimi Sneed will be having a medical procedure Friday morning in Hattisburg.  Please pray for her.

Shelbie Travis is not any better after Monday’s surgery.  Pray doctors will soon be able to identify and treat her problem.

 

 

I’ve been working with the donations for Operation Christmas Child and have compiled a list of our current needs:

  • Soap
  • Washcloths
  • Flashlights (no need to buy extra batteries)
  • Jump ropes ($1.00 at some dollar stores)
  • Cloth dolls or “Barbie like” dolls ($1.00 at most dollar stores)
