Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell is now in a room on the third floor.  Pray for her as she works to get strong enough/healed enough to begin treatment.  Pray for her family too.

Mrs. Bobbie Magee was hospitalized briefly and had some tests done.  Pray for a diagnosis so treatment can begin.

Mr. Gordon Price was hospitalized for a few days because of an infection, but is now home again.

Pray for Mrs. Mary Miller as she nurses a fractured foot.  Pray for Mr. James as he provides daily care for her.

Mrs. Shirley Frazier seems to be improving some.  Continue to pray her back gets better.

Pray for Mrs. Pam Newman as she has a heart procedure Friday.  May your prayers give her comfort and peace as she is admitted tomorrow.

Continue to pray for Mr. J.D. Smith as he continues to give his blood on a very regular basis.

Pray for Mr. Raymond Anthony as he stays at home and travels for his treatments.  Pray for his primary caregiver, “Miss” Velma.

  • Steeeple/Renovation Dedication has been changed to 10:30 service on June 10th.
  • Second Baby Dedication on Father’s Day, June 17th
  • Graduate Recognition Sunday, May 17th
  • Vacation Bible School, June 4th – 8th
  • Registration for VBS in church office or the next two Sundays at a VBS table
  • Senior Adult Lunch at Charlie’s in Springfield Wednesday, June 13th
  • Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home Day June 10th

Pray for the young man/family as he prays about taking the position of youth/children’s minister at our church.

Wednesday Update

Marsha Bankston is doing much better and was even scheduled to leave the hospital yesterday.  Continue to pray for her and her family.  Thank you for praying for her when she was so sick a few days ago.

Miss Laura Joiner called.  She is using a wheelchair in her home and will soon be able to do her job with the Council of Aging from her home.  Miss Laura likes it when she can talk to people on the phone.  I hope you will call and encourage her while she is homebound.  Her next appointment is June 4th.

David Allen is headed back to the doctor.  He’s still sick!  Please stop what you are doing and pray for him now.  Thanks!

Kay Forman had eye surgery in Bogalusa, but is home and doing well.  Pray she continues to improve.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Evelyn Bridges.  She’s better. but not great yet.

Pray for the workers in all our area churches as they prepare for VBS in the coming weeks.  Pray for good attendance at all the churches.  Pray for the boys and girls who will be taught the Christian A,B,C’s.  May each home be impacted because of the impact of VBS.

Have a great day!  We have rain this morning.  It is coming out of the hose pipe and providing nourishment to the flowers and the plants in the garden.  I’m thankful for a good supply of water to help when plants are dry.  I’m also thankful for the one who is holding the hose in the dark this morning.

Monday Update

Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell is out of surgery and will be in recovery for the next three or four hours.  The report is not as good as hoped for, but a biopsy report will be in in a few days.  She will be in ICU for a while and hospitalized for seven to ten days.  If needed, treatment will begin as soon as possible.  Please continue to pray for her and for her family.

Also, pray for David Allen who had to go to the ER for help with the cough that just didn’t go away.  Pray he gets relief soon

Miss Laura Joiner is now at her home in Kentwood.  Pray for her continued  improvement.

Continue to pray for Mr. Raymond Anthony in North Oaks and Marsha Bankston in Ochsner.  They both are battling cancer.

Mrs. Mary Alice Simpson Blackwell will be having surgery at North Oaks today beginning around 11:00.

Mr. Donald Spring is headed to rehab in Kentwood.  Thank God for his progress.

Jesse Dean’s sister, Patsy, is better.  Thank God for seeing her trough a “rough spot ” in the road.

What a week!  Last week, Marsha Bankston was in church.  Now, she has been in Oschner since Monday and ICU since the middle of the week.  Keep praying for her and her family, Larry, Daniel,  Michael, Steven and the families of the boys.

Mrs. Laura Joiner was in church last week when she fell and broke her leg and hit her face on a pew.  She’s been hospitalized in New Orleans all week and has had surgery on her let.  Keep praying all goes well as she heals.

Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell and Jimmy Schwartz did not have a diagnosis for their illnesses.  Now, we know she has a brain tumor and will have surgery midday tomorrow in Hammond and Jimmy has myelofibrosis with a choice of treatment plans.
