Mrs. Ruby Ziggler is back in the hospital.  It seems like she has been “on a roller coaster ride”.  Keep praying for the family.

Mr. John Blackwell fell.  Pray for him as he adjusts to living in his trailer in the country.

A childhood friend who lives in Texas reports that two weeks after back surgery, her husband, Mark,  fell and broke some ribs.  Pray for him as he endures the pain and continues the back recovery.

Rev. Tommy Hicks will have hip replacement surgery today at Our Lady of the Lake.  He has been troubled with this for some time, but tried to keep going.  Pray the surgery goes well and the recovery is complete and in a timely manner.

Continue to pray for David Bales and his family and friends.  David will have surgery tomorrow at North Oaks to remove the melanoma and to check some lymph nodes.  The family will be very appreciative of your prayers.

This is the day the Lord wants you to begin/revive/continue spending some time with Him.

Roseanne had surgery for a hernia yesterday. As you all know she was still recovering from giving birth to her daughter “Jaycee Dell” who arrives 6 weeks early. This little family has been thru alot in the past month.
Her surgery went well. She is in a lot of pain. But she is at home with her family. Maw Maw Margaret is there caring for her and the baby.
PLEASE keep them in your prayers!

Spencer Clair Webb is Margaret Oliver’s great granddaughter.

Prayer request for Spencer Clair Webb, 8 month old daughter of Kaitlyn And Jared Webb, Mr. Eddie Joe and Mrs. Sandra Blanchard’s granddaughter. She has a tumor behind her eye. The doctors want her to go for an MRI tomorrow and St. Jude for Thursday. Please join us in praying for Spencer Clair, the family and doctors.

Pray for Kathy Jo Thompson as she has shunt surgery tomorrow morning at North Oaks at 6:30 A.M.

Continue to pray for the family of Percy Cutrer.  There will be a memorial service for him at a later time.

It’s not too late to bring clothing or household items for the family that was burned out.  Drop off at the office entrance of FBC,K.

We are still collecting school uniforms for delivery to Re-Store in Amite.  Drop them off at the office or main entrance of FBC,K.

Monday Midday Update

Wonderful News!  Spring Creek Baptist Church will have their first planned service in their new building which will be large enough to hold both services at one time.  Beginning Sunday, their new worship time will be 10:00 A.M. for everyone!

Sam Woodard had his kidney surgery and is recovering nicely.  He thanks those who prayed for him.

The MK burned in eastern Africa has safely made it to the capital city.  His burns were labeled as second degree, not third degree which means the healing process could shorted.

The study of Deuteronomy will begin tonight at FBC,K at 6:30.

We will have our Third Thursday meeting at the cabin Thursday night at 6:30.  Come with great expectations.

Vincent S. Spitale
(November 11, 1922 – September 13, 2013)

A resident of Amite, he died at 12:14 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. He was born November 11, 1922 in Amite and was 90 years of age. He was an avid outdoorsman, United States Marine Corps Expert Marksman during World War II, and owner of Spitale’s Bar for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Jenny Spitale; 3 sons, Vince, Jr., Anthony, and Santo Spitale; sister, Mary Currier; 4 brothers, Tony, Guy, Nick, and Sam Spitale; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Spitale; parents, Sam and Virginia Spitale; sister, Frances Petitto. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Services conducted by Fr. Mark Beard. Interment Amite Cemetery, Amite. SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN PEOPLES. Please pray for a young MK (missionary kid) in a remote location in East Africa who sustained third-degree burns today. Pray for the medical attention needed and for relief from pain. Lift up the parents and siblings as well, asking for comfort and peace for the whole family.

Midday Friday

Austin Rose is home, but not able to go to school due to side-effects of his treatment.  Pray for his family to keep their strong faith and to be faithful in their witness while traveling on a difficult journey.

 

Wow!  God is blessing the “Lucy” Bible study.  We had great participation and some soul searching among the 19 people present today.  We are looking forward to our fourth study next week.  Some have decided to eat at the City Cafe after our study.  Men and women are encouraged to join us at 11:00 Friday for lesson four, “Legalism”.

 

There was a fire at the Purina mill at Arcola this morning.  Thankfully, everyone who works there and those who came to fight the fire are all okay.

 

Thomas Jerome Stowe, Sr. (June 12, 1952 – September 12, 2013)

A resident of Kentwood, died at 12:37 PM on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1952 in Rayville and was 61 years of age. Survived by 2 sons, T.J. Stowe, Jr and wife, Aimee, Ponchatoula and Michael Joseph Stowe, Amite; 2 grandchildren, Gage and Piper Stowe; 2 brothers, Alfred Thompson Stowe, Jr., Walker and Bubba Rouse, Schriever; uncle and aunt, Ray and Linda Johnson, both of Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Johnnie Johnson Stowe Rouse and Carl Wesley Rouse. McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in charge of arrangements.
