Vincent S. Spitale
(November 11, 1922 – September 13, 2013)

A resident of Amite, he died at 12:14 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. He was born November 11, 1922 in Amite and was 90 years of age. He was an avid outdoorsman, United States Marine Corps Expert Marksman during World War II, and owner of Spitale’s Bar for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Jenny Spitale; 3 sons, Vince, Jr., Anthony, and Santo Spitale; sister, Mary Currier; 4 brothers, Tony, Guy, Nick, and Sam Spitale; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Spitale; parents, Sam and Virginia Spitale; sister, Frances Petitto. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Services conducted by Fr. Mark Beard. Interment Amite Cemetery, Amite.
