We had a number of items turned in at church Sunday for Operation Christmas Child.  They have all been opened and grouped for shoeboxes.  Lots of love is going into the shoeboxes.  David and I are dedicated to/addicted to shopping, organizing, and packing for them.

I love to tell about shoeboxes and do “shoebox show and tell”.  Pray with me as I consider how to best spread the word about the shoebox ministry.

Smiley Conerly had his first treatment in Hattiesburg yesterday.  Please continue to pray for him and Carol Jean.

Operation Christmas Child – We are almost at the end of our first month of church-wide collection by Sunday School classes for OCC.  FBC, Kentwood has continued to prove how generous they are when it comes to missions.  Thanks to the OCC team of Frank Fowler, Beth Lee, and Wanda Smith for helping to get the message out to the classes.   Looking ahead, what a joy it will be for many children to open the shoeboxes that you helped send at the end of this year.  Thank you for your love for missions.

Sunday Afternoon

I received a call saying Mrs. Irene Lascaro fell and broke her hip, for the third time.  She was being transported to the hospital at that time.  I do not have an update.  The third break will bring new challenges for her and for her surgeon.

You may not know “Miss” Irene, but I told you about the wonderful job she did sharing about Lottie Moon and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions.  I was so glad to see her that day because I hadn’t seen her in a while.

Please say a special prayer or two for her this afternoon as decisions are made about how to deal with this latest fracture.
