Thursday

“I called to the LORD in my distress,

and I cried to my God for help.

From His temple He heard my voice,

and my cry to Him reached His ears.”

~Psalm 18:6, HCSB~

The verse above is exactly what some people are doing today and what many other people need to do.  I hope you can help someone this week as they call out to God.  If you are the one in need of hearing God’s voice, I pray this will be the day!

Macy Gueldner

By Mary Catherine Gueldner — 20 hours ago

Little miss Macy has clinic today, but during her break, she’ll be in a commercial shoot for Our Lady of the Lake. As I type (while on my 15 minute lunch break,) she’s getting hair, makeup, and wardrobe done. Ha! I told them that it wouldn’t take long for hair, since she has none!

She had a bad week after her last LPIT, Vincristine, and steroids (which is her norm.) She recovered and had a good week last week.

We’ve been super busy (and TIRED,) but things have been going okay.

I hope to get some good pictures to show you from the Sunday tea in Memphis. We had a REALLY nice day! Company D danced, which is a dance group of young adults with Down syndrome (I cried through their beautiful performance.) A violinist and harpist performed solos, and the Germantown choir sang. It was all so very nice! Macy didn’t wear her crown for long, but she stood on the smaller stage (by herself) and took it all in, while twirling and dancing.

Our princess Macy has had a busy week, she may need a personal assistant soon to organize her appearances and shoots 🙂

Johnnie Santangelo

Please pray for “Lil’ Man” and his family as the doctors try to figure out the recent tests.

Boyd Hatchel’s posts:

Thank you for your prayers for my family. Your prayers were answered as my dad was healed today, by the Great Physician in Heaven. He passed away at home this evening.

Thank you for so many kind words, prayers, and love for our family. The memorial service for my father will be Friday, October 10, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist McKinney, TX. Visitation will precede the service at 1:00 PM. Jennie and I will return to Richmond on Saturday.

God surely guides me as I post TPL each morning.  One way is that the verse that comes at the beginning links up so well to the prayer requests of the day and to the devotional for the day.  Thank-you God for putting Your hand on my efforts.

“15 Church Facility Issues” by Thom S.  Rainer

Operation Christmas Child

  • 5 Years ago, Pastor Sosa organized a small distribution for some children in a remote community in Belize. Most of the children were immigrants whose parents worked on the citrus plantations in grueling conditions. After the distribution, the children kept coming back to the area where the boxes were given out. Pastor Sosa began to organize Sunday Schools for the children in the yard of one of the parents. A church congregation grew out of the outreach. He later moved to the area and today the church meets under a thatch shelter in the front of his yard which was erected with the help of some of the parents. He plans to continue ministering to the community and to obtain land on which to erect a permanent facility.
  • Karie Robertson of Kansas loves to pack shoeboxes. She loves it so much that she has a stack of more than 700 empty shoeboxes in her basement that are ready to be packed with gifts! Many of her friends and family shop local deals throughout the year and help with donations for the packing process. It’s Christmas all year round for Karie! How many shoebox gifts will you pack this year?
