for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

On this day, Oct. 31, four years ago today, I had gamma knife brain surgery.    I am happy to report my tumor continues to shrink!  I was able to enjoy Fall Fest Activities at NOBTS that very night with my daughter’s family.

Today, I have a long list of people who need our prayers.

  • Eleanor Morris has joined the list of those who have taken a fall.  It always takes longer to recover than to fall and get hurt.  Add her to your prayer list.
  • Mrs. Velma Anthony is finally doing better after her fall.  Thank God for her improvement.
  • Betty Simpson is having back issues.  Add her to your prayer list.
  • Ora Lee Wilson’s sister, Juanita Booty, can’t seem to get well.  Now, she has pneumonia.  Keep her on your prayer list.
  • Mrs. Gloria Boone also needs to be on your prayer lists.  As you pray for her, please pray for her family.
  • Mr. James Miller fell and is hospitalized again.  This time he is in Covington.
  • Mrs. Glenda McKean is slowly improving after breaks in both ankles.  She may be able to leave Hood Memorial the first of next week.  Pray for her as she begins walking again.
  • Mrs. Anne Hurst is still hospitalized in Greensburg.  She enjoys company.
  • Rufus Williams continues to do well following his recent gall bladder surgery.  Keep him on your prayer list for a while.  Pray for Margie too!

He is still retaining a lot of fluid which prevents him from bring weaned from the oxygen to a level that will allow him to
Leave ICU.  He is at the point where he needs to push himself to be more mobile and do the exercises past his comfort level.  He had his 1st meal  today- vegetable broth, Apple juice and orange jello.  All of his favorites 😊. I was proud of him – he managed to force it down.  Thank you for your continued support to us. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Kenny Ray Gill went in for double knee replacement, but did not have surgery because he had some sort of an insect bite.  So, surgery will be rescheduled for a later time.

Lisa Pitri received a wonderful report and will not need additional treatments, only periodic check-ups for now.

Bob Brooks who was hospitalized briefly is now home.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Connor Corkern is still at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, but is improving.  If he continues to do well, he will be coming back to Kentwood soon.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Hazel Smith.  She is at home.

Continue to pray for Barbara Hurchinson.  She has a few more days of rehab/physical therapy in Hammond before coming back to Kentwood.

(Has anyone prayed for rain?  He surely paid attention!)

Be careful on the roads.  Look for rain water accumulation and flowing water as well as downed trees.

We have power, but apparently some do not.  It was good to see four or five Demco trucks go by about 3:30 and again about ten minutes later.  I hope most of you will awaken to power in a few hours.
