Brantly Willians, 2, of Livingston Parish was involved in a four-wheeler accident last weekend.  It did not look good for him earlier this week, but yesterday’s cat scan shows hope.  You can read about him on Facebook, “Brantly Williams”.  Be sure to pray.

Joe Easley is still in North Oaks.  As you pray for him, please pray for his family.

There are a number of other people who need our prayers, but who are not listed here.  If you know some of them, please pray specifically for them.

Young at Heart meets at New Zion Tuesday morning at 10:30.  You do not have to be a member of NZBC to participate in the fellowship, program, and lunch.  The speaker this month is Toni Holland Fitzgerald who will be sharing her wealth of knowledge about home health, hospice, available food services, physical therapy, etc.  She will also have some “happys” to share.  Toni will answer questions we have about services available in Tangipahoa and St. Helena Parish.  If you have not attended before, this will be a good opportunity to start.  Bring a friend.

We have had a very long day.
They took Doug to surgery at 8:00, but did not begin until after 10:00. The surgeon came out and said his part was going well, but he had to stop to enable the placement of a central line. His BP was too low. Then surgeon came later to tell us surgery was completed. They did not leave him on the vent this time. He is back in the ICU and vitals are good. Praying for healing. Thank you for the texts of concern.

Jadon’s Journey

Jadon saw the orthopedic surgeon today. It was a great visit with awesome news. He said that since he is doing so well with his foot that we need to just leave it alone right now. We will keep his same brace and we are to call him if his foot starts hurting again and he said he would see us that day. He didn’t have any answers as to what he thought was causing the pain but it has gone away for now and he is doing really well. Praying it continues to improve and it doesn’t start hurting again!!

                        LORD, you establish peace for us;

      all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

My aunt’s husband in Texas, John Orr, got a good report on the mass in his bladder.  He will not need any additional treatment to follow up on the surgery that has already been done.

Joe Easley of the New Zion community is having kidney problems.  Please pray for this man and his family.  The last few years have been very difficult for them.

Doug Toney (Written by his wife, Sandy)

FRIDAY May 8, 2015

Doug is still not very alert. Vitals are fairly stable with an occasional episode of high Blood pressure or high heart rate. They did an ultrasound of abdomen and found his gall bladder inflamed with sludge. Waiting to talk to the surgeon. Also, a wound care nurse will come today to check his incision. Brooklyn and I will go check out two long term acute care centers tomorrow. Please continue to pray for his healing. Also, please pray for our friends- Jeanne Terrell and Paul Hancock who are struggling with major health issues, too.

Thanks for praying for my unspoken request yesterday.  Surgery went well.  The man should be able to come home today.

Melissa Johnson needs our prayers to deal with a continuing problem with one arm.  You may remember she fell and broke both arms.

Did not get the news I wanted this morning at the doctors office. The doctors wants to take the hardware out of the left arm . The right arms hardware is great. Being the smooth talker I am I got him to agree to let me have two more injections so that will buy me almost a year to get better!!! Not ready to give up and that gives me more time to pray and get better! I still believe I can beat this!

Let’s pray for summer activities, especially Vacation Bible Schools in all the churches.  Pray for those who will work in each one of them to be well-prepared so they can share their love for Jesus and His love for each of us with the children.

Thanks for reading and praying today.  Let’s each make today special for someone today. Together, we can touch many lives today.
