Operation Christmas Child

“Both my boy, 9 & girl, 7 have been packing shoeboxes with me since they were very little. Each year they love making sure we have the cuddly toys & special items like beads for girls, toy cars for boys, and books. They even now say little prayers while packing them “God may these things bless this child.” They often wonder about the children who will have received our boxes. Thank you Lord for giving my kids compassion.”

It’s never too early to begin packing your shoeboxes!

Born To Serve The Lord Submit Correct Lyrics

                              1.

From the dust of the earth
my God created man-
His breath made man a living soul;
And God so loved the world
He gave His only Son,
and that is why I love Him so!

2.
My hands were made
to help my neighbor,
my eyes were made
to read God’s word.
My feet were made
to walk in His footsteps,
my body is the temple of the Lord.

Chorus

I was made in His likeness,
created in his image,
for I was born to serve the Lord.
And I cannot deny Him,
I will always walk beside Him,
for I was born to the serve the Lord.

Serve the Lord with gladness:
come before his presence with singing.
~Psalm 100:2~

“Serve the Lord with Gladness”

Serve the Lord with gladness in our works and ways.

Come before His presence with our songs of praise.
Unto Him our Maker, we would pledge anew
Life’s supreme devotion to service true.

Serve the Lord with gladness, thankful all the while
For His tender mercies, for His loving smile.
Blessed truth enduring, always just the same.
We will serve with gladness and praise His name.

Serve the Lord with gladness, this shall be our theme.
As we walk together, in His love supreme.
Listening, ever listening for the still small voice.
His sweet Will so precious, will be our choice.

Serve Him with gladness, Enter His courts with song.
To our Creator, true praises belong.
Great is His mercy, wonderful is His name.
We gladly serve Him, His great love proclaim.

(Words/Music by B.B. McKinney)

A little boy in Mateo School in the Dominican Republic told us how much he had been praying to the Lord to give his mom enough money to buy him some sandals. The ones he had were old and broken and they could not afford another pair. When he opened his shoebox gift, he found a pair of sandals his size. He was so happy as he walked around to show everyone his new shoes. It was extraordinary!

  • “I recently received a thank you letter from a child in Guyana who had received one of my shoeboxes. She told me she had three brothers, but that now I am her sister. It was a precious letter and I was happy to learn about one of the children receiving my shoeboxes. She said she prays every day and has accepted Jesus as her Savior.” – Dawna P.
  • Children who recently graduated from OCC’s discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, returned the love they were shown by handing out shoebox gifts to other children who had not yet learned about the love of Jesus. Watch below to see the impact that your shoebox gift can make, and then click here to learn how you can disciple a child, like one of these:http://bit.ly/TheGreatestJourney5-28
  • A young girl, enrolled in The Greatest Journey, began praying for the restoration of her parent’s marriage as they were separated with a pending divorce. During one lesson the teacher had the children write down some of their concerns on stones to throw away as they committed to giving each concern to God. The little girl began to cry after she threw away her stones and shared her concerns with the teacher. The teacher prayed with the little girl. Following this incident her parents came back together and decided to not get a divorce.
