above all that we ask or think,

according to the power that works in us.”

“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you,

always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer,

because of your partnership in the gospel

from the first day until now.”

~Philippians 1:3-5~

From the mission field:

* Give thanks to God that the only Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift in Dhaka,   Bangladesh, that contained a small pair of plastic sandals reached the person who needed them the most: a little girl undergoing surgery on her feet!

* Please pray for visas to be granted so that pastors from other countries who can speak their language can come to Canada and tell South Asian immigrants about Jesus.

* Praise the Lord that during the Christmas season, several thousand families in Vietnam heard the Gospel and a New Testament, a Gospel tract, and an evangelistic movie were placed in their hands.

* Please pray for a national couple who are part-time church planters in southern Thailand,  as the evil one is using every advantage to keep them from the Lord’s work.

Sharla Tolleson Hodges

Please add my first cousin, Sharla, to your prayer list.  She has Huntington’s Disease and has regressed since her mother, my aunt Naomi, passed away less than a month ago.  She is in her early 50’s.

Weather

I’m sure yesterday was a long day for many people who stayed in all day, but it was the best way to avoid the traveling problems.  Even though my thermometer says it is 26 degrees now, I know the forecast is for much warmer temperatures later today.  I thank God I was able to “stay put” yesterday.  Please pay attention to the forecast for more cold weather early next week.

Use the next couple of days to prepare for more cold weather.  Help someone else to be better prepared this time.

Now, I want to answer a question for you.  The question is “Is it too late to give to the LMCO?”

No, it it never too late to give money for international missions.  Mark your offering envelope “LMCO”.  We have already surpassed our goal, but we can always give more.

Today, we can also say some prayers for those who are involved in Human Trafficking – those who are being used and those helping others get away from this problem.

Tonight through Wednesday night Rev. Gibby MdMillan will be leading the January Bible Study at New Zion Baptist Church.  They begin at 6:30 each night.  You are invited to join them.

Have an especially blessed Lord’s Day!

Please continue to pray for Mr. Edward Garner.  He has developed some complications.

Gaylon Cutrer

Gaylon is doing better than he was at the first of the week.  Keep him in your prayers.

Mrs. Betty Catherine Hatcher

Please continue to pray for Mrs. Betty Catherine Hatcher as she awaits an appointment on the 30th.  At that time, she hopes to schedule surgery to improve her mobility.

Macy Gueldner

As I was typing a post to let very one know how well Macy has been, she decided we needed a little excitement. So here we are, taking a trip to Baton Rouge in the middle of the night to get a new needle for Macy’s port. Apparently she learned how to unbutton and unzip her pajamas to play with “Buddy”… her port line… and she pulled Buddy out of her port, but not out of her chest. This has accidentally happened before, but we’ve always been across the parking lot from the hospital. I guess Macy wanted a 3 hour round trip ticket to BR tonight, with her Daddy providing the entertainment for the ride (he had a few wisdom teeth pulled today, and he’s a little but silly 🙂
All will be well in a little bit, when she gets reaccessed… and when I can finally get to bed.

Margie Morgon

Please add Margie Morgon from Texas to prayer list

Thanks

This leads me to the big news!

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at FBC, Kentwood

Our Lottie Moon goal was $20,000.00, with an hallelujah goal of $21,000.00.  Laurie sent me an email saying we have received $23, 336.35!  I thought you might be as excited as I am.  Usually it takes us into January to meet our goal.  As far as I know, we have never reached $23,000.00.

I want to reflect back on 2013!  It was a good year in many ways.

    • I was with Jason’s family for Christmas for the first time!
    • We learned Jennie’s family has been selected to work in Richmond next year!  (It doesn’t take three airplanes to get there!)
    • David and I are healthy, as are our children and their families.
    • We celebrated forty-six years of marriage in August.
    • We love where we live and usually get to spend our time as we wish each day.
    • We love to learn about and share Jesus through our Sunday School classes, Bible studies, Third Thursday meetings at the cabin, etc.
    • We have many friends and have added lots of new ones this year.
    • Daddy lived a long life and was able to live alone after Momma passed away.
    • I was able to complete another year of theprayerlink.com.

I’m ready for 2014!  I don’t know what it holds, but I do know who holds my future!  I hope you know who holds your future.  If not, please ask me or someone else who can tell you.
