If you didn’t begin on the first, grab a notebook, your Bible, and a pen.  You can be caught up in a couple hours.  The link to the Scripture is for those who prefer to copy from the computer or phone.  I suppose that may even help some people with size of the text.

Some of you will have dresses to donate.  Others may want to help meet other needs. Maybe this information will be helpful to some young parents.  Use it if you heart or life is touched.

I trust this post, as well as all the others, leaves you with something that has touched your heart.

This morning I’m going to let my Roseland roots show.

  • Mrs. Grace Chadwich has lived in the same house for as long as I can remember.  Her house is  across the street and just south of Roseland Baptist Church.  She raised her two  children there.  She was faithful in church attendance for all the years I have know her.  Last night, she became very ill and was placed in ICU at North Oaks.  She is 96 (to the best of my recollection).  I haven’t had an update this morning.  Pray for the whole family today.
  • Sue Ellen Russell Pearson went to school with me for the first-sixth grades and then again in high school.  She has battled cancer twice, but is beginning 2016 in remission.  Pray for Sue Ellen and all the others you know who are fighting and winning many years.

2016

Happy New Year!

And we know that in all things

God works for the good of those who love him,

who have been called according to his purpose.

~ Romans 8:28~

Last year, on 1-1-15, I started a Blesssings/Thankfulness project.  Each day of 2015, I wrote some way I was blessed that day or something I was thankful for.  I completed the year by writing the 12-31-15 paper last night.  I had an old, unusual vase that I tied a small ribbon around.  That has been my collection jar.  On day, hopefully soon, I will take all the papers out of the jar, organize them by date and put them in a notebook.  Now, will I start a new jar or use a new method for 2016?  That remains to be seen!

Without reading all those papers, I can tell you God richly blessed me this past year.  I am so thankful for His love and watch-care over me and those I love so much.

Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch is continuing to improve.  Keep her in your prayers.

Mr. James Miller has had a few good days.  He has a break before the next round of treatment.  Stay tuned for information about giving blood to replace some of what he has used lately.

Today is the day left to choose a Bible reading plan for 2016.  Bro. Joey mentioned plans at prayer meeting last night.  Bro. Don Meadows posted his on Facebook this morning.  I will be doing Scripture Writing and have already shared the January Scriptures with others.  I plan to share daily on here, but if someone wants it by the month or year, please ask me to send it to them that way.

Please pray for my friend and former student, Lisa Whitner Carruth, who begins her next round of treatment today.

Update on Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch shared by her daughter-in-law, Pam:

Good day for Mrs. Mary Kliesch…tests showed no blockages, she got the tube removed, and she is able to eat a liquid diet. We just need to pray that she can stand and walk soon! Thank you everybody for the prayers…they worked and the Lord blessed her.

There will be a blood drive on January 24th to replace blood used by Mr. James Miller.  That’s a Sunday.  The plans are to begin in the morning and continue into the afternoon, but the exact hours are not established yet.  Soon, you will be able to call the church office and schedule a time to give.

Here we are with more rain.  I had to turn the computer off for a while.

Today and tomorrow will be great days to reflect on 2015.  We can all list lots of reasons to be thankful to God for 2015.  I’ll let you do that on your own today.

Read the Bible in 2015 Psalm 149-150

I happy to share that this completes the reading of the whole Bible this year.  For those of you who undertook and completed this, congratulations!

In the coming year, I will be sharing the Scripture writing reminders each day.  I have already shared December, but will now begin to post each day for all of 2016.  I hope you will join us and enjoy the time you spend in God’s Word.

Mr. James Miller needed two more units of blood and platelets yesterday.  To help keep blood available for those like him who need it, there will be a blood drive on Sunday, January  24th.  I’ll tell you more later, but mark your calendar now.  (David and I have had the opportunity to be with Mr. James when he got blood or platelets.  The unit at the hospital was full each time.  This let me know again how important blood drives are.)

Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch is in North Oaks, room 3222.

Latest news on Mrs. Mary Kliesch…they will do x-rays tomorrow to decide if surgery is needed…if they see a blockage in gastro-intestinal area. We are praying surgery will not be needed. Her blood pressure is ok now. She is still not able to stand or walk. Prayers are needed…Thank you!!!                                          ~Written by Pam Kliesch~

Johnny Belgard is still at Ochsner Hospital.  His improvement is slow, but seems to be headed in the right direction.  Please continue to pray for him.
