A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her residence in Roseland. She was born October 17, 1930 in Amite and was 81 years of age. She is survived by her 5 children, Charles Ray Bennett, Kentwood, Carol Bennett Sealey and husband, Steve, Saraland, AL, Barbara Bennett Gaines and husband, Carl, Roseland, Don Bennett, Roseland and Steve Bennett and wife, Shawn, Roseland; 7 grandchildren, Carla Gaines Tate, Bridget Gaines Keyser, Mary Beth Bennett Johnson, Austin Sealey, Nikki Bennett, Steven Bennett and Seante’ Bennett; 7 great-grandchildren, Nick Tate, Brady Johnson, Karson Keyser, Brighton Johnson, Kelsey Keyser, Branson Bennett and Taeton Bennett; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Bethel and Elaine Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Dallie Bennett; mother, Ida Mae Bethel; father, Lonnie Bethel; 2 brothers, Aubrey Bethel and Edward Bethel; uncle, Kenneth Wales; special nephew, Leslie Ray Bethel. Sunday Afternoon Addition

Charles Ray Bennett called to tell me his mother, “Miss” Elizabeth, just passed way peacefully surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He said the wake would be Tuesday night at the Arcola Baptist Church with the funeral Wednesday morning.  He said his mother was now with his daddy who passed away forty-nine years ago.  I clearly remember that day when his military plane went down with all lost with it.  “Miss” Elizabeth worked hard to raise those five children alone.  Please pray for this family.

A resident of Hammond, LA, died on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Landmark Nursing Center in Hammond, LA. She was born October 14, 1921 in St. Helena Parish, LA and was 90 years of age. Pray for Judy Liberto as she continues to battle injuries from her wreck two weeks ago.

Continue to pray for Mr. John Alan and Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell as they make adjustments to living in Moss Point.  If you haven’t already made a donation to help cover her expenses, you can do so at First Guaranty Bank.  You can purchase tickets for the fish fry benefit at First Baptist Church or from family members.

Mrs. Beverly Blackwell is hospitalized at Greensburg.  Add her to your prayer list.

Mr. Butch Miller, Larry’s dad, is hospitalized at North Oaks.   Please add him to your prayer list.

Pray for our schools as students and teachers will soon be returning for another year.

VBS next week at Tangipahoa Baptist Church.  I’m sure they would be thrilled to have your children/grandchildren.

I’ve heard good reports from area churches that have youth and children at camp this week.  Pray for the mountain tops to be high for the remainder of the week and experiences to be life changing eternally.

Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Varnado will be Saturday in north Louisiana.  Pray for the local family as they travel back and forth for the services.

Infant Shannon Nicole Faylynn Howell Gurney was born July 8, 2012 and passed away at 12:21p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

She is survived by her father, Michael Gurney; mother, Samantha Howell; brother, Michael “Ken” Howell;grandparents, Amanda and Nickey Juneau, James Howell, III, Casey Allen; great-grandparents, Beverly Broussard, Catherine Juneau, Billy Ray Juneau; uncle, James M. Rev. Milton Kliesch resigned as pastor of Osyka Baptist Church Sunday.  He’s going to be semi-retired and living in his home in Franklinton.  Thank God for his time in Osyka.  Pray for him as he moves to the next step of his life.

LaJuana Faye Langley
(August 9, 1941 – July 9, 2012)

Mrs. LaJuana Faye Tilley Langley, 70 of Amite, LA, passed away at 8:30 AM, Monday, July 9, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be held July 11, 2012 at Three Creeks Baptist Church, Junction City, AR with Rev. James Sparks and Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Burial followed at Old Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, Ar.

Mrs. Langley was a native of Webster Parish, La. and a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church of Kentwood, LA.

Survivors include her husband Wayne Lavelle Langley, Amite, LA, 3 sons; Dennis Langley, Raleigh, NC, Stephen Langley, Amite, LA and Christopher Langley, Germantown, MD.; a brother: Thomas Tilley, Hallsville, TX; 2 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by son, Paul Langley; mother, Mattie Tilley; father, Elan Tilley; sister, Gwen Reeves and brother, Gary Tilley
